MATCH ONE

Mauro Ranallo: Good evening and welcome to Warfare! We are live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and kicking things off tonight, Hardcore Holly defends the Breakout Title against Marty Scurll!

“One True Villain” hit and Marty Scurll came out to a mixed reaction from the crowd. After Scurll had entered the ring, “How Do You Like Me Now” hit and the crowd booed as Hardcore Holly walked out, accompanied by Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley.

Corey Graves: Hardcore Holly and Bobby Lashley were unsuccessful challenging Legion for the Tag Titles at Wrestlemania… Holly will be looking to return to winning ways here tonight!

Upon entering the ring, Holly shoved the Breakout Title into the referee’s chest, then began mouthing off at Marty Scurll. The referee held the title up in the air, then called for the bell. Holly wasted no time getting started, hitting Scurll with a stiff clothesline as soon as the bell rang. Scurll fell to the mat, and Holly stomped on him several times, then pulled him to his feet and hit an uppercut. Scurll staggered backwards, and Holly grabbed him, hitting him with some more right hands then whipping him against the ropes. As Scurll ran back towards him, Holly took him down with a big boot.

Mauro Ranallo: An aggressive start by Hardcore Holly!

Corey Graves: He looks like a man with a point to prove, Mauro!

Holly hit Scurll with a knee drop, then sat him up and applied a sleeper hold. Scurll was able to fight out of it, and as both men got to their feet, Scurll hit Holly with a series of right hands. Scurll then whipped Holly into the corner, and ran at him, going for a clothesline… but Holly got his knees up and blocked it! As Scurll staggered backwards, Holly moved out of the corner and grabbed Scurll, throwing him shoulder first into the ring post! Scurll cried out in pain and fell to the mat, clutching his shoulder. Holly pulled Scurll away from the ropes, and applied an armbar! Scurll was able to get his foot on the ropes, but Holly refused to break the hold! The referee threatened to disqualify Holly, and began counting – 1… 2… 3… 4… Holly broke the hold just before the 5 count.

Mauro Ranallo: Hardcore Holly doesn’t just want to beat Marty Scurll… he wants to hurt him!

The referee ordered Holly to take a step back, allowing Scurll time to get to his feet. When Scurll was on his feet, Holly ran towards him, going for a clothesline, but Scurll pulled down on the ropes, sending Hardcore Holly to the outside. Scurll then leapt over the top rope, hitting Holly with a springboard crossbody! Both men were down outside the ring, and the referee began counting – 1… 2… 3… at the count of 4, Marty Scurll got to his feet. Lio Rush tried to distract Scurll by mouthing off at him, but Scurll laughed, then threw Rush into the ringside barrier! Bobby Lashley looked furious, and went to confront Scurll, but the referee ordered him not to. Scurll turned his attention back to Hardcore Holly, and threw the defending champion back into the ring. As Scurll re-entered the ring, he grabbed Holly and set him up for a jackknife powerbomb… but Holly countered with a back body drop, then hit Scurll with a pumphandle slam! He hooked the leg, and the referee counted – 1… 2… Scurll kicked out! Holly pulled Scurll to his feet, and this time, he hit the Alabama Slam! He hooked the leg once more – 1… 2… 3!

Corey Graves: It’s over! Another successful title defence for Hardcore Holly!

Holly celebrated as Warfare went to commercial.

MATCH TWO

Mauro Ranallo: Up next, Chris Jericho takes on the EBWF World Champion, The Miz, in our main event!

“Break the Walls Down” hit and the crowd cheered as Chris Jericho made his way to the ring. When Jericho was in the ring, “I Came to Play” hit and the crowd continued to cheer as The Miz stepped out onto the stage. Miz raised his World Title up in the air, then walked down the ramp.

Corey Graves: Miz successfully defended the World Title against Aiden English at Wrestlemania, but if Jericho can get a victory tonight, he would surely be the next number one contender!

Mauro Ranallo: Jericho has made no secret of his desire to be an 11-time World Champion, Corey!

When Miz was in the ring, he handed the World Title to the referee, who took it out of the ring then called for the bell. In a show of respect, Miz and Jericho shook hands, then the two men locked up. Miz applied a headlock, but Jericho fought out of it and shoved Miz into the ropes, then hit a dropkick. As both men got to their feet, Jericho hit Miz with a series of backhand chops, then went to whip him against the ropes. Miz reversed the Irish whip, sending Jericho into the ropes, then as Jericho ran back towards him, Miz took Jericho down with a hip toss. Miz stomped on Jericho several times, then grabbed him by the leg, going for the figure four, but Jericho kicked him away and got back to his feet. Miz ran at Jericho, going for a clothesline, but Jericho ducked out of the way and hit a neckbreaker. He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1… 2… Miz kicked out!

Corey Graves: Great back and forth action!

Mauro Ranallo: Jericho and Miz reminding everyone that they are two of the best in the business!

Jericho pulled Miz to his feet and hit him with a series of punches, then whipped him into the corner. Jericho ran at Miz, hitting him with a forearm smash, then as Miz staggered out of the corner, Jericho climbed the turnbuckle. Jericho signalled for a crossbody, but before he could hit it, Miz climbed up the ropes and grabbed Jericho, hitting him with a superplex!

Mauro Ranallo: Mamma Mia! That shook the ring!

Miz covered Jericho and the referee counted – 1… 2… kickout! Miz pulled Jericho to his feet and whipped him back into the corner, then ran at him, hitting a corner clothesline. As Jericho staggered out of the corner, Miz set him up for the Skull Crushing Finale, but Jericho blocked it and countered with a bulldog. Jericho ran against the ropes, and hit Miz with the Lionsault! He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1… 2… Miz kicked out just before the 3!

Corey Graves: Jericho rolling back the years there… but it wasn’t enough to get the win!

Jericho pounded the mat in frustration, then got to his feet and grabbed Miz by the legs, setting him up for the Walls of Jericho! Before he could lock it in, Miz kicked Jericho away, then crawled to the edge of the ring, using the ropes to pull himself up. When Miz was on his feet, Jericho ran towards him, going for a clothesline, but Miz ducked underneath it and countered with a back toss, sending Jericho to the outside. Jericho hit the outside with a hard thud, and Miz signalled to the referee to count him out. The referee began counting – 1… 2… 3… 4… 5… just as the referee was about to count 6, the arena lights went out!
Corey Graves: What the hell?

Mauro Ranallo: Ladies and gentlemen, I think we’re having some technical difficulties, please bear with us…

A few seconds later, the arena lights came back on, and two men were stood behind Miz. The two men were dressed all in black, complete with black masks, and as Miz turned around, the two masked men attacked him! The referee called for the bell, then tried to stop the attack, but one of the masked men shoved him to the ground, then continued to pummel Miz. The crowd booed furiously.

Mauro Ranallo: The Miz and Jericho were putting on an instant classic, and these two men have ruined it! No wonder this crowd aren’t happy, Corey…

Corey Graves: Well clearly The Miz has got enemies, Mauro!

As Jericho got to his feet, he saw what was happening and slid back into the ring to try and help Miz. At the sight of Jericho, the two masked men immediately exited the ring and left through the crowd. Jericho tended to The Miz as Warfare went off the air.
