MATCH ONE

The crowd cheered as pyro shot up all over the stage area and Warfare went live.

Mauro Ranallo: Welcome to EBWF Warfare! We are live from Cleveland, Ohio.

Nigel McGuinness: Tonight will see the last matches in the first round of the King of the Ring Tournament.

Mauro Ranallo: Yes we are just four weeks away from naming the King and Queen of the Ring, and coming up first, Luchasaurus and John Morrison will square off to determine who will face Colten Gunn in the next round of the tournament.

“Ain’t No Make Believe” filled the arena, and the crowd cheered the arrival of one of the newest members to the EBWF roster. Morrison did his usual entrance, and proceeded to the ring. The crowd cheered for Luchasaurus as he came to the ring for this qualifying match. The referee checked both men’s boots and rang the bell.

Nigel McGuinness: Here we go!

Luchasaurus ran toward Morrison as John moved out of the way and dropped Luchasaurus to the outside. Morrison flew over the top rope but Luchasaurus moved out of the way as Morrison landed on the floor. Luchasaurus got back in the ring and jumped over the top rope landing on Morrison. Morrison was desperate and flailed. Once he gained control he pushed him into the ring post, and the two battled back into the ring.

Mauro Ranallo: They’re giving it their all.

Morrison hit a forearm uppercut. Luchasaurus got onto the ring apron and kicked Morrison in the face. He went for roll-up but Morrison got to his feet and kneed Luchasaurus in the face. He went for the Starship Pain but Luchasaurus moved out of the way. Luchasaurus hit a chop to the chest followed by a drop kick. Luchasaurus laid in the double knees. He went for the cover but Morrison kicked out. Luchasaurus with the boot drop. Luchasaurus went for a high kick but Morrison countered with spinning kick to the face. He went for the cover but Luchasaurus kicked out. Both men got back up as Morrison placed Luchasaurus on the top rope. Morrison climbed the second rope but was cut off by a headbutt from Luchasaurus. Morrison fought his way back up. He dropped Luchasaurus off the second rope with the Spanish fly and went for the cover but Luchasaurus kicked out.

Nigel McGuinness: John Morrison thought he had it there.

Morrison went for a right hand but Luchasaurus reverses it into the snap suplex. Luchasaurus went for the cover but Morrison kicked out. Luchasaurus went to grab Morrison but Morrison dropped him and then hit him wit the Starship Pain. Morrison went for the pin.

Mauro Ranallo: A victory here tonight for John Morrison.

Morrison’s hand was raised in victory as a video montage advertising the Queen of the Ring tournament began to play.

MATCH TWO

“Barrel of a Gun (Instrumental)” by Depeche Mode hit and the crowd gave a mixed reaction as Austin Gunn made his way to the ring for the next match.

Mauro Ranallo: Up next, we’ve got more King of the Ring first round action as Austin Gunn goes one on one with Kane. Austin’s big brother Colten Gunn pulled off something of an upset by defeating Bobby Lashley in his first round match… can Austin do the same tonight against the Big Red Machine?

Nigel McGuinness: You know what’s funny, Mauro… Austin and Colten Gunn have been drawn on opposite sides of the brackets, so we could have an all Gunn Club final! Can you imagine that?

When Austin Gunn was in the ring, “Slow Chemical” by Finger Eleven hit and the arena lights turned red as Kane made his way to the ring. Upon entering the ring, Kane stood in the center of the ring and raised up his arms, before slamming them down, causing flames to shoot up from all four turnbuckles. The camera cut to Austin Gunn, who was seen flinching. The arena lights came back on, and the referee called for the bell. Gunn charged towards Kane, going for a forearm smash, but Kane blocked it and hit Gunn with an uppercut, knocking him back into the corner. Kane punched Gunn in the corner several times, then pulled him out of the corner and whipped him against the ropes. As Gunn ran back towards him, Kane went for a clothesline, but Gunn ducked out of the way then ran against the opposite set of ropes. Gunn went for a clothesline of his own, but Kane took him down with a big boot. Kane then pulled Gunn to his feet, dragging him towards the corner and slamming his head off the turnbuckle. Gunn fell to the mat, then rolled out of the ring, giving himself a moment to recover.

Mauro Ranallo: A dominant start by Kane here… Austin Gunn appears to be in trouble!

Kane followed Gunn to the outside and hit him with another uppercut, then threw him back into the ring. As Kane re-entered the ring, he went to whip Gunn against the ropes, but Gunn reversed it, sending Kane into the ropes, then hit Kane with a dropkick to the knee! Kane stumbled, and Gunn hit another dropkick to the knee, taking Kane down. As Kane got to his feet, Gunn hit him with a series of punches, but Kane fought back with some right hands of his own, then grabbed Gunn by the throat, setting him up for a Chokeslam. Gunn blocked it, then kicked Kane in the knee.

Nigel McGuinness: Smart strategy here by Austin Gunn, continuing to target the knee of Kane.

Kane stumbled backwards, leaning against the ropes, and Gunn went for a clothesline, but Kane ducked out of the way and threw Gunn out of the ring. Kane then went to exit the ring to go after Gunn, but before he could do so Gunn grabbed him by the legs, taking him down. Gunn then grabbed Kane’s leg and slammed it down, hitting Kane’s knee off the edge of the ring! Gunn slid back into the ring and pulled Kane away from the ropes, then applied a kneebar. Kane was able to fight out of it, and as both men got to their feet Kane lifted Gunn over his shoulder, setting him up for a Tombstone Piledriver… but Kane’s knee buckled, allowing Gunn to counter with a reverse DDT. He made the cover and the referee counted – 1… 2… Kane kicked out!

Mauro Ranallo: Gunn might have injured Kane’s knee here… the Big Red Machine seems to be struggling.

Gunn sat Kane up, applying a chinlock, but Kane fought out of it and both men got to their feet. The two men exchanged right hands back and forth, and after gaining the upper hand Kane whipped Gunn against the ropes, then hit a sidewalk slam. He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1… 2… Gunn kicked out! Kane pulled Gunn to his feet and grabbed him by the throat, lifting him up for a Chokeslam… and this time, he hit it! The impact of the move seemed to hurt Kane’s knee, and as the referee checked with Kane if he was okay to continue the match, Austin Gunn rolled out of the ring, landing on the floor outside the ring.

Nigel McGuinness: Once again, Austin Gunn showing his intelligence… he used what little energy he had to get out of the ring, preventing Kane from getting the three count!

Although he was still limping slightly, Kane exited the ring, grabbing Gunn and dragging him to his feet. Kane went to throw Gunn back into the ring, but before he could do so, Gunn whipped Kane into the steel steps! Kane collided knee first with the steps and fell to the ground. Austin Gunn quickly rolled back into the ring and yelled at the referee to count Kane out.

Mauro Ranallo: I can’t believe this… is Austin Gunn going to get a victory by count out? Kane can barely move!

The referee began counting – 1… 2… 3… 4… 5… 6… 7… 8… Kane got to his feet… 9… Kane rolled back into the ring just before the 10 count! As Kane used the ropes to pull himself up, Gunn hit him with a kick to the midsection, then hit the Fame Asser! He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1… 2… 3!

Nigel McGuinness: What a win for Austin Gunn!

The referee called for the bell and raised Gunn’s arm in victory. Gunn celebrated, then made his way to the back as a medic checked on Kane’s injured knee.

MATCH THREE

Mauro Ranallo: Still to come, Seth Rollins makes his EBWF return against Roman Reigns, and Chris Jericho takes on Aiden English in the main event. Up next though, we’ve got a triple threat match featuring three very talented superstars… Johnny Gargano, Jeff Hardy and CM Punk!

Johnny Gargano made his way to the ring first, followed by Jeff Hardy and finally CM Punk. When all three men were in the ring, the referee called for the bell. Gargano charged towards Punk, hitting him with a series of punches and knocking him down to the ground, then turned his attention to Jeff Hardy. The two men locked up and Hardy hit Gargano with an atomic drop, then took him down with a snapmare. CM Punk then grabbed Hardy, hitting him with a series of punches, but Hardy fought back with some right hands of his own, then whipped Punk into the corner. Hardy hit Punk with some more right hands in the corner, then pulled him away from the ropes and set him up for a neckbreaker, but Punk blocked it and hit Hardy with a knee to the face, then went for a clothesline. Hardy ducked out of the way and hit a double leg takedown, then hit a double leg drop to the groin!

Nigel McGuinness: An impressive start by Jeff Hardy!

As Hardy got to his feet, Johnny Gargano took him down with a clothesline, then stomped on him several times. Gargano pulled Hardy to his feet and whipped him against the ropes before hitting a dropkick, knocking Hardy out of the ring. Gargano was about to follow Hardy to the outside, but before he could do so CM Punk attacked him from behind, hitting him in the back of the head then whipping him into the corner. Punk stomped on Gargano in the corner several times, then whipped him against the ropes and hit a lariat. He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1… 2… Gargano kicked out! As Punk got to his feet, Jeff Hardy climbed onto the ring apron, but before he could re-enter the ring, Punk hit him with a right hand, knocking him down.

Mauro Ranallo: Great ring awareness there by CM Punk… in a triple threat match, you can’t just focus on one opponent!

Punk turned his attention back to Gargano, and tried to set him up for the GTS, but Gargano fought out of it and shoved Punk into the corner. Gargano ran at Punk, hitting him with a double knee strike, then as Punk staggered out of the corner, Gargano hit him with a superkick. He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1… 2… Jeff Hardy interrupted the count! Hardy pulled Gargano to his feet and hit him with a series of punches, then whipped him against the ropes and hit him with a dropkick. As Hardy got to his feet, CM Punk was sat up, and Hardy hit a low front dropkick, then hooked the leg. The referee counted – 1… 2… Punk kicked out! As Hardy got to his feet, the crowd cheered and began chanting his name. Hardy nodded in appreciation, then grabbed Johnny Gargano and whipped him into the corner. As Hardy turned around, CM Punk ran at him, going for a clothesline, but Hardy ducked out of the way and hit Punk with a back body drop. Hardy then used CM Punk as a springboard, running towards Punk and jumping off his back to hit Gargano with the Whisper in the Wind!

Nigel McGuinness: What a move that was! Jeff Hardy is in control here!

Hardy then climbed to the top rope and went to hit Gargano with the Swanton Bomb… but before he could hit it, CM Punk shoved him off the turnbuckle! Hardy landed hard on the outside and clutched his shoulder. Punk then grabbed Gargano, pulling him to his feet and hitting the GTS! He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1… 2… 3!

Mauro Ranallo: It’s over! CM Punk gets the victory!

The referee called for the bell and raised Punk’s arm in victory. Punk celebrated as Warfare went to a commercial break.

I'm sick and tired of witnessing it. I just want it to end and I want you to live your life without constantly being hurt. You keep reaching out to God but he doesn't answer. He keeps turning his back on you.

Nigel McGuinness: And just like that, Roman Reigns shows his dominance and gets a win over the newest member of the roster, Seth Rollins.

Roman allowed the referee to raise his arm in victory as EBWF went to commercial.

MATCH FIVE

The crowd gave up some loud “Joe” chants as Samoa Joe came to the ring.

Mauro Ranallo: Joe looks ready for his King of the Ring Qualifying matchup.

Nigel McGuinness: He’ll have to see if he has what it takes against The Rock.

Rock was to the ring next, with a huge pop from the crowd. The former EBWF Champion climbed to the top rope, lifting his right hand triumphantly in the air. Once Rock had his feet on the ground, the bell rang. Rock wiped Samoa Joe out with a running uppercut. Rock moved to hit the People’s Elbow early, but Joe rolled out of the way. Joe got out of a suplex and chopped back at him. Rock hit the ropes, but Joe took him down with a big back elbow. Joe sent him into the ropes, but Rock took him down with a back elbow. Rock went to grab Joe by the ankles, but Joe kicked him away. Joe chopped him and sent him to the corner. Joe avalanched him before hitting a snap overhead kick. Rock left the ring to recover. Joe then took Rock out with a suicide dive that sent him into the front row!

Nigel McGuinness: The Rock’s fans in the front row getting up close and personal with The Great One here tonight.

Rock battled his way up, until Joe came after him and they battled back into the ring. Joe chopped Rock hard and smiled. Rock chopped back and hit the ropes, but Joe took him down with a big clothesline. Joe applied a neck vice, but Rock fought it. Joe took him down and went for a senton splash, but Rock moved. Rock hit a shoulder in the corner and viciously stuck away at him. Rock hit the ropes and laid him out with a big boot for a near fall. Rock got him up and tried for a suplex, but Joe’s weight took them both down. Rock then got to his feet and hit Joe with a suplex for a two count.

Mauro Ranallo: Joe trying like hell to stay alive.

Once Joe was on his feet he chopped him and hit the ropes, but Rock followed him in for an uppercut. Joe rolled out of the ring to recover. Rock ran around ringside and hit a right hand to Joe again. Rock got him in the ring and Joe pulled himself up in the corner and caught Rock to apply the Coquina Clutch for the submission!
Mauro Ranallo: The Rock tapped out!
Nigel McGuinness: Samoa Joe moves on in the King of the Ring tournament!

SEGMENT

Backstage we see Alexa Bliss wearing her Blissed off T-shirt and black pants.

Alexa Bliss: The Queen Of The Ring begins soon and this year things are a little different, because there are less people in this tournament than usual. So, the entire first round is Triple Threat matches, but that doesn't change the fact that I plan to win this tournament.

Bliss smirked.

Alexa Bliss: The last two times I was in this tournament I made it to the finals, and this year not only will I make it to the finals but I will win the entire thing. I will show the rest of the women what the EBWF fans already know, and that is the fact that I am the one and only, undisputed Goddess. I will win the Queen Of The Ring tournament and no one will stop me.

Alexa walked away as Warfare went to commercial.

MATCH SIX

EBWF returned from commercial to join Mauro and Nigel at the announce table.

Mauro Ranallo: Up next, it’s time for our main event, and the final first round match in this year’s King of the Ring tournament. Aiden English goes one on one with Chris Jericho… there is a lot of history between these two superstars, and it’s fair to say there is no love lost between them!

After a video recapping Chris Jericho and Aiden English’s history, “Judas” by Fozzy hit and the crowd began singing as Chris Jericho stepped out onto the stage. Jericho stood at the top of the ramp, looked around at the crowd and smiled, then made his way down the ramp. As Jericho walked down the ramp, Aiden English ran through the curtain and attacked Jericho from behind, knocking him down to the ground. Jericho’s music was abruptly cut, and the crowd booed as English pummelled Jericho on the ramp.

Nigel McGuinness: Aiden is fighting like a man possessed here… he wants to take Jericho out before this match has even begun!

Mauro Ranallo: This isn’t right, Nigel! Someone needs to put a stop to this!

English dragged Jericho down the ramp towards the ring and threw him into the steel steps. As Jericho tried to get to his feet, English picked up the steps and hit Jericho with them, knocking him down. English then dragged Jericho towards the announce table and began clearing the table to put Jericho through it, but before he could do so, referees and road agents rushed to the ringside area to intervene. As the camera zoomed in on Aiden English, one of the referees could be heard warning English that he would be disqualified if he continued his assault on Jericho. English shook his head and responded, “How can I be disqualified if the match hasn’t even started?” However, English stepped back, allowing Jericho time to get to his feet. When Jericho was up, English grabbed him and threw him into the ring, then climbed into the ring and yelled at the referee to ring the bell. The referee shook his head and ordered English into the corner, then helped Jericho towards the opposing corner. Jericho used the ropes to pull himself up, and the referee asked him if he was okay to start the match. Jericho nodded, which seemed to surprise the referee. The referee could be heard asking Jericho “are you sure?” Jericho nodded and yelled “ring the bell, damn it!” Reluctantly, the referee called for the bell. As the bell rang, English immediately charged towards Jericho, taking him down with a clothesline then stomping on him in the corner repeatedly.

Mauro Ranallo: Chris Jericho is showing how much it means to him to be in the King of the Ring tournament… he’s clearly not at 100%, how could he be after that assault? But despite that, he wants this match.

Nigel McGuinness: He’s being foolish, Mauro… he’s at a severe disadvantage, especially considering how much aggression English is showing!

English pulled Jericho to his feet and lifted him onto his shoulders, hitting a fireman’s carry spinebuster, then hooked the leg. The referee counted – 1… 2… Jericho kicked out! English got to his feet and stomped on Jericho several times, then sat him up and put him in a sleeper hold. Jericho was able to fight out of it, and as both men got to their feet, Jericho went for a clothesline… but English ducked out of the way and hit Jericho with a neckbreaker. He hooked the leg once more and the referee counted – 1… 2… Jericho kicked out! English pulled Jericho to his feet and dragged him back towards the corner, slamming his head off the turnbuckle then using his foot to try and choke Jericho in the corner. The referee threatened to disqualify Jericho then began counting – 1… 2… 3… 4… English removed his foot just before the count of 5. English pulled Jericho away from the corner and hit a single underhook facelock drop, then hooked the leg once more. The referee counted – 1… 2… Jericho kicked out just before the 3!

Mauro Ranallo: Aiden English is in complete control here… Chris Jericho is one of the greatest wrestlers to ever set foot in an EBWF ring, but with all due respect to Jericho I just can’t see him making a comeback in this match.

Nigel McGuinness: Forget about making a comeback in this match, Mauro… if Aiden English carries on like this, he could but Chris Jericho on the shelf!

English pulled Jericho to his feet and hit a powerbomb, then climbed to the top rope. After taunting the crowd, English went for That’s a Wrap… but Jericho got his knees up and blocked it! English cried out in pain, clutching his back, while Jericho crawled towards the edge of the ring and used the ropes to pull himself up. When Jericho was up, English got to his feet and charged towards Jericho, going for a clothesline… but Jericho ducked out of the way and got behind English, rolling him up into a schoolboy! The referee counted – 1… 2… English kicked out! Both men got to their feet, and English went to kick Jericho, but Jericho grabbed the leg and blocked it, then took English down and locked in the Walls of Jericho! English was able to get to the ropes, but Jericho refused to break the hold! The referee threatened to disqualify Jericho and began counting, but Jericho broke the hold just before the count of 5.

Mauro Ranallo: You can see the frustration getting to Jericho here, Nigel. He wants to hurt Aiden English.

Nigel McGuinness: This feels like more of a fight than a wrestling match!

As Jericho broke the hold, English rolled out of the ring. Jericho ran against the ropes, then hit English with a baseball slide! As English fell to the ground, Jericho rolled out of the ring and grabbed English, hitting him with a series of punches before throwing him into the ringside barrier. Jericho pulled English to his feet and lifted him up, hitting a suplex onto the barrier! As English clutched his ribs, Jericho kicked him in the back, then asked one of the fans in the front row if he could have a sip of his beer. The fan nodded enthusiastically and handed Jericho his beer. Jericho drank some of the beer, then threw the rest in English’s face! This seemed to delight the crowd, and they began chanting for Jericho. Smiling, Jericho threw English back into the ring, then hit him with a double underhook backbreaker. He went for the pin and the referee counted – 1… 2… English kicked out! Jericho pulled English to his feet and hit him with some more right hands, then whipped him into the corner. Jericho ran at English, hitting a corner forearm smash, before taking him down with a one-handed bulldog. Jericho teased going for the Lionsault, but then grabbed English by the legs instead, going for the Walls of Jericho once again. This time, English was able to roll out of it and kick Jericho away, then got to his feet. Jericho went for the Codebreaker, but English blocked it and hit Jericho with a knee to the midsection, then followed up with a DDT. He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1… 2… Jericho kicked out!

Nigel McGuinness: Just as it looked like Jericho was taking control, Aiden English swings the momentum back in his favour. What a talent!

Mauro Ranallo: Aiden English may be talented Nigel, but the man is unhinged!

Nigel McGuinness: Given what Jericho has done to him in the past, Mauro, can you blame him? Jericho tried to end his career!

English stomped on Jericho several times, then hit a leaping leg drop. English pulled Jericho to his feet and set him up for the Director’s Cut, but Jericho blocked it and hit a snapmare, then hit English with a dropkick to the back. As English got to his feet, Jericho whipped him against the ropes, before hitting a spinning heel kick. Both men got to their feet, and Jericho grabbed English once more, this time hitting the Codebreaker! He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1… 2… English kicked out just before the 3! Jericho held his head in disbelief, then grabbed English and punched him against the ring mat several times. Jericho pulled English to his feet and whipped him against the ropes, then as English ran back towards him, Jericho went for the Judas Effect… but English ducked out of the way and grabbed Jericho from behind, hitting a German suplex. As he got to his feet, English went to the corner and tried to remove the top turnbuckle pad, but the referee stopped him before he could do so. As the referee re-tied the turnbuckle pad, Jericho grabbed English and went for the Walls of Jericho again, but English blocked it, then hit a low blow! The crowd booed, but the referee didn’t see it! As the referee turned around, English grabbed Jericho from behind, hitting the Director’s Cut! English was about to go for the cover, but then he shook his head. He dragged Jericho to his feet and hit a second Director’s Cut, then hooked the leg. The referee counted – 1… 2… 3!

Mauro Ranallo: It’s over! Aiden English has cheated his way to victory, and he advances to the next round.

The referee called for the bell and went to raise English’s arm in victory, but English slapped his hand away and ordered him to leave the ring. The referee did so, perhaps afraid that English would attack him. After the referee had exited the ring, English went back to the corner and removed the top turnbuckle pad, throwing it out of the ring. English then grabbed Jericho, dragging him towards the corner and slamming his head off the exposed turnbuckle! English repeated this several more times, eventually busting Jericho open. As Jericho fell to the mat, blood began to pour from his head onto the canvas. One of the EMTs tried to get in the ring to check on Jericho, but English refused to let them enter the ring. English then went back to the corner and began ripping up the canvas, exposing the wooden boards underneath the mat. English grabbed Jericho and pulled him to his feet, then hit the Director’s Cut onto the exposed canvas!

Mauro Ranallo: This is despicable! I hope Aiden English is fined and/or suspended for his actions here tonight.

Finally referees and road agents rushed to the ring, stopping Aiden English from carrying out any further assault on Jericho. English exited the ring and made his way up the ramp, laughing as EMTs tended to Jericho. Jericho could be seen being placed onto a stretcher as Warfare went off the air.
