Back in the garage area of the Sprint Center, cameras focused on the entranceway as a custom painted hot pink Porsche Taycan Turbo S turned in and parked several feet away. The camera got moving and closed the distance with the hybrid sports car just as the door opened.

Charly Caruso: Excuse me Natalya, I was wondering if I could get a couple of words about your match--

Natalya stepped out of her car, wearing a black blazer and skirt and a pink blouse. Her hair was tied back in a tight ponytail and a large pair of Burberry sunglasses on her face. She rolled her eyes at the EBWF correspondent as she grabbed her bag from her car.

Natalya: Oh, you want a word from me about the non-title match I have to have against the Women's Champion? You want me to give you some "thoughts" about a match where I assume all the risks and the non-defending champion risks nothing? Fantastic. Tell me Charly...

Natalya began walking towards the backstage area, forcing the cameraman and Charly to follow her at her brisk pace.

Natalya: When did our "cage-fighter" friend actually win the Women's Championship?

Charly Caruso: Um, I believe she won it at the Royal Rumble back in January.

Natalya: Not bad Chuck, you memorized the title history page! OK second question - what's the date today?

Charly Caruso: I, um... what is this about?

Natalya: Humor me.

Charly Caruso: March 23rd.

Natalya: So what you're saying is that this bad ass former MMA fighter Women's Champion hasn't defended her championship in over two months, and yet I'm forced to get in the ring with her in a non-title match?

Charly Caruso: I don't make the rules, Natalya.

Natalya: What exactly DO you do? Nevermind, it doesn't matter and neither do you. Another question of the rhetorical variety, do you know who I am?

Charly Caruso: You're... Natalya? Former 2 time EBWF Women's Champion, former 3-time Women's Tag Team Champion with Trish Stratus. You've--

Natalya: Alright alright, just stop. I didn't ask for my fucking Wikipedia page. What are you, Evan Bourne?

The sound of her heels clicking against the hard surface through the empty backstage hallway reverberated at a faster pace as she picked up speed.

Natalya: KEEP UP! I can hear you getting winded, Drew. Keep that camera on me!

She snapped her fingers at the cameraman.

Natalya: Now, to answer my own question, let me tell you a little bit about humble old me. A long time ago in a wrestling company far, far away, I was a young and up-and-coming star in the world of professional wrestling. I had pink hair, and I had flashy wrestling outfits, and I escorted Harry Smith and Tyson Kidd down to the ring and watched while they did all the work in the ring. I was happy to be a part of the business, and did what I could to make my boys look as good as possible.

She shook her head.

Natalya: Naive and stupid. Someone like Shayna Baszler, who was just coming up in the world of MMA, wasn't even a blip on my radar.

Charly Caruso: And now?

Natalya: Not so fast Chuck, I'm not done. Fast forward a couple of years. I moved on from that mess of an organization and came here. And I promised myself from that day on I would never be someone's "manager". I would never be an accessory to someone else. When I came to EBWF, I promised that I would clean up the Women's Division. A place rife with blonde barbie dolls with little more personality than the one's you can find at Wal-mart. I wanted to end that Women's Division and start it fresh, bring real competition into the fold. At the time, I would have killed for a person like Shayna Baszler to come to EBWF. A weapon like that would have been the perfect catalyst to turn the division on its head, just as I had planned out.

Charly Caruso: So what does--

Natalya: Later on, I found Trish Stratus who was looking for something new. She found someone in me that was just as disgusted with the state of Women's wrestling, and we agreed that we would slowly weed out the garbage around here. But at the end of the day, the realization we had was that no one was on our level, and we ran roughshod throughout the EBWF until we felt like stopping. And then...

Natalya smiled.

Natalya: And then, I came to a profound and enduring realization. One that would shape my career to this day. After fighting for cause after cause after cause and always living for someone or something else, the realization I came to was quite simple.

She turned and leaned in towards Charly, a gloriously confident smirk on her features.

Natalya: It's all. About. Me. I realized that I didn't need Harry Smith or Tyson Kidd. I realized I didn't need Trish Stratus or some overwhelming sense of greater purpose. I realized that Natalya is the best wrestler alive today, and notice that I didn't say women's wrestler. I was the main event. I was the name people came to see. You see, Shayna Baszler is like me from years ago. Trying to steamroll this entire division and prove something to everyone and herself. She brings that Make-A-Wish kid Lio Rush with her and drags him along to be her personal hype man. Shayna Baszler is bringing all of the smoke and mirrors that she can to hide a simple fact. She was an average at best cagefighter, and a below-average wrestler. I have fought the absolute best that this company can offer across multiple eras, and I have always come out on top. Shayna may think that she's some kind of refreshing departure from the norm, but the reality is that she's a Diet Coke version of Natalya. Kind of the same, except with worse teeth and less talent.

Charly Caruso: She did win the Women's Championship.

Natalya: Against who? I won my Women's Championships against talent that will be remembered in EBWF forever, and defended against women that will be legends in this business. Shayna Baszler is kind of like what happens when you try to make something that was amazing the second time, but you keep trying to substitute cheaper ingredients. She's a woman that is still living for other people and other things. I am out there for me. Not for my legacy, not to prove something to the EBWF brass or the fans, I am out there just for me. Because I am simply better in every way. So while Shayna is putting her submission hold on people backstage when they're not looking, or allowing her brain damaged valet to speak for her, I will be here representing the one thing that truly matters in the EBWF universe and the entire wrestling business as a whole.

Nattie smiled and placed her hand gingerly on the microphone that Caruso was holding.

Natalya: Myself.

Nattie snatched the mic and tossed it over her shoulder, causing it to smack on the ground which made a loud pop through the speaker. As Charly kneeled down to pick it up, Natalya walked off and left she and the cameraman alone as the scene faded to the EBWF logo.
