Why Mankind?

The scene opened backstage at the Verizon Arena. Mike Kanellis and his wife, Maria Kanellis, were discussing Mankind.

Mike Kanellis: That guy is so weird. What do you think caused him to be that way? Maybe his mother never loved him as a child, and now he’s acting out?

Maria Kanellis: Well Mikey, I don’t think anyone has ever loved him the way that I love you. It’s a special kind of love... if Mankind had ever felt that, he wouldn’t be such a monster.

Mike Kanellis: Maybe that’s the problem, Maria darling! Maybe he has loved and lost, and that’s what made him a monster. I mean I don’t know what I would do if I ever lost you...

Maria pulled Mike close and kissed him.

Maria Kanellis: Don’t worry baby, I’m not going anywhere.

Mike and Maria continued talking as the scene faded.
