Off The Hook

Post by TheDynasty »

OOC: Sorry for the shortness, good luck Ben

Wednesday October 26th: The Westin Book Cadillac, Detroit

Maxwell Jacob Friedman angrily threw his expensive designer bag onto a standard bed in a standard room of an incredibly standard hotel.

MJF: Can you believe this?

He gestured around the room as Richard Holliday walked into shot.

Holliday: It’s not that bad.

MJF: Not that bad? Seth Rollins gets a suite at the MGM Grand and we get this?!

Holliday: To be fair, he is a champion.

The look he received from MJF was enough to make Richard Holliday question not only what he should say next, but also why he was even in the room and not in the safety of another zip code.

Friday October 28th: Huntington Place

MJF was shown flipping the bird at a balding, middle-aged man as what Maxwell presumes to be the incel’s mother struggled to operate a simple shutter button on a relic of a digital camera. The sound of his teeth grating made his impatience hard to miss. As the momma’s boy eventually vacated the signing booth, a young girl, seemingly 7 or 8 years old, approached, wearing a ‘Send Hook’ t-shirt.

MJF: Is this a joke? Haha, real funny, kid.

Girl: Can you sign my shirt please?

She held out an opened EBWF-branded pencil case for Maxwell to take his pick of metallic-colored sharpies. Instead, he reached into the pencil case and took out a pink and white eraser, before rubbing it against the girl’s forehead.

MJF: Nope, this is broken – It’s supposed to erase mistakes.

Sunday October 30th: Ford Field

MJF is in The Dynasty’s his locker room twenty minutes before the Pay-Per-View is due to begin. Well, the pre-show has already begun, but who gives a crap about the usual curtain jerkers getting to be the squashers rather than the squashees for once, all at the expense of some local schmuck nobody’s ever heard of, or will likely never hear of again. You know the types, the guys that don’t even get an entrance. It has been a long time since Maxwell Jacob Friedman was in that position, hell, nowadays he has three entrance themes to choose from and different ring gear for every day of the week. Not that he needs it, because he only wrestles when he chooses to. No matter what Wes Ikeda might think or say, he’s only competing tonight because he made the choice to wrestle tonight. Maxwell Jacob Friedman is a generational talent, and that talent isn’t to be wasted on weekly TV shows, or God forbid, house shows. The technical expertise and world-class ring psychology that MJF brings is Pay-Per-View quality, and that’s why tonight, he’s decided to share his God-given gifts with a global paying audience. Tonight, when he beats Hook for a second time, he’ll prove that he’s better than…

Holliday: Hey Max, don’t worry about Al, I took care of it and I have a way better plan for tonight.

MJF: You interrupted my internal monologue Richard, at the best part, and for what, to talk about Al Snow? I still don’t understand how when I said we need somebody with more experience, you heard ‘Bring me a near-sexagenarian with mental health problems.’

Holliday: Okay, I admit it wasn’t my best idea.

MJF: It was a worse idea than Jade. I hope you don’t visit the casinos Wes mentioned in his email, because you’re on a losing streak. Whatever your idea for tonight is, cancel it, I’ve made my own arrangements. You may be an expert when it comes to business, but I'm bringing in an expert when it comes to this business. You've shown time and again that you're not the right person to act as a headhunter, but this guy knows how to spot talent. We'll have our replacement members soon, and they'll be so much better than Bashful or Dopey or whatever those dwarves we used to hang around with were called.

"Better Than You" starts playing as MJF opens the locker room door and heads towards the Gorilla position.
