Mauro Ranallo: Get ready folks… it’s time for Warfare! We are live from the sold out Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, and kicking things off we’ve got Neo Biishiki-Gun versus Oedo Tai as Sakisama goes one on one with Jamie Hayter!
Sakisama made her way to the ring first, accompanied by Utami. Jamie Hayter came out next, and after she had entered the ring, the referee called for the bell. Jamie immediately charged towards Sakisama, taking her down with a clothesline before stomping on her several times. Jamie pulled Sakisama to her feet and whipped her into the corner, where she hit her with a series of punches. Sakisama fought back with some right hands of her own, but Jamie retaliated with a knee strike to the midsection, followed by a snapmare. As Sakisama sat up, Jamie hit her with repeated hammer and anvil strikes.
Nigel McGuinness: An aggressive start by Jamie Hayter… she’s taking the fight to Sakisama!
Jamie pulled Sakisama to her feet and went to whip her against the ropes, but Sakisama reversed it, whipping Jamie into the ropes before hitting a big boot. As Jamie got to her feet, Sakisama whipped her into the corner, then hit a running knee strike. Jamie stumbled out of the corner looking dazed, and Sakisama hit her with an STO, followed by a jumping knee drop! She hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Jamie kicked out! Sakisama pulled Jamie to her feet and hit her with a series of punches, then went for a roundhouse kick… but Jamie blocked it, grabbing Sakisama’s leg and taking her down to the mat before putting her in a single leg Boston crab!
Mauro Ranallo: Sakisama could be in trouble here!
Sakisama was able to get to the ropes, and the referee ordered Hayter to break the hold. Jamie initially refused to break the hold, but did so after the referee threatened to disqualify her and began counting to 5. Jamie then stepped back, allowing Sakisama to get to her feet, but as soon as Sakisama was up, Jamie trapped her against the ropes and hit her with a series of forearm strikes. Jamie then whipped Sakisama against the opposing set of ropes, before going for Hayterade… but Sakisama ducked underneath it, then grabbed Jamie from behind, hitting a backstabber! She hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Jamie kicked out!
Nigel McGuinness: A great counter there by Sakisama, but Jamie was able to get the shoulder up before the 3 count!
As Utami shouted words of encouragement, Sakisama pulled Jamie to her feet and set her up for a piledriver, but Jamie blocked it, countering with a back body drop. As Sakisama got back up, the two women exchanged right hands, and after gaining the upper hand, Jamie lifted Sakisama up, hitting the Ushigoroshi! She hooked both legs and the referee counted - 1… 2… Sakisama kicked out! Sakisama stumbled up to her feet, seemingly out of sorts from the physical match. Seeing that the French Aristocrat was vulnerable, Jamie ran against the ropes, ready to deliver the Hayterade… but no! Sakisama caught her with the Academy Award Kick! Down went Jamie, and Sakisama fell to one knee. Then the fans buzzed frantically as unexpectedly, AZM appeared and climbed to the top rope. She leaped off and delivered a double foot stomp to Sakisama's back! Immediately Utami rushed into the ring and put herself between her former Queen's Quest teammate and Sakisama. AZM laughed in her face and then ate a sudden lariat from Utami!
With everything happening at once, the ref had no choice but to call for the bell. The match ended with a no contest.
Mauro Ranallo: Oh come on! Is there no end to what Oedo Tai will do to opponents?
Nigel McGuinness: They've become more ruthless since Tam revealed herself as their leader, and now they're clearly eying Neo Biishiki-Gun. Sakisama's spoken of a coming war, and now Oedo Tai's brought that war home!
AZM got up only to walk into a stiff German suplex from Utami that gave the recovering Sakisama some space. Jamie had just pulled herself back to her feet; she was a bit out of sorts from the Academy Award Kick but still prepared to fight. Utami stepped up, shoulders squared and ready to defend her mademoiselle. Suddenly, blue mist hit her square in the face, blinding Utami!
As Utami clawed at her face to clear her vision we saw Tam Nakano glaring past her at Sakisama. Tam leveled Utami with a rising knee strike. She laughed menacingly as the crowd booed the actions of her unit. Jamie followed up with a Hayterade and Utami looked to be down for the count. By this time AZM had also recovered and returned to the ring looking hungry to inflict pain.
Sakisama had managed to get to her feet, a cold scowl on her pristine visage. She stared down all three members of Oedo Tai as the crowd buzzed.
Nigel McGuinness: Neo Biishiki-Gun are used to having the numbers advantage out there. This is completely alien territory for Sakisama.
Mauro Ranallo: With Utami down for the count, it's three on one! Sakisama hasn't exactly made friends in EBWF herself either. It's unlikely anyone's coming to even the odds!
The camera picked up Tam shouting 'We've already won this war!'. Ever proud, Sakisama attacked her foes with all the strength she could muster. Kicks and punches landed repeatedly on AZM and Tam, but the numbers game became too much. They viciously put the boots to her, but then there was a huge pop from the crowd. Oedo Tai all turned around at once to see an unexpected rescuer waiting behind them.
Mauro Ranallo: Mamma mia! Out of nowhere, it's Arisa Hoshiki to the rescue!
The Queen of the Ring stood there with her new t-shirt over her ring gear and a steel chair in hand. her whole posture communicating her readiness to fight. Chants of "A-RI-SA" rang out as the two sides stared each other down. A beat later Arisa tossed her chair at AZM; the high speed bomb girl caught it, only for Arisa to kick the chair into her face to raucous cheers. AZM fell to the mat and Tam and Jamie rushed in to neutralize the new threat.
Arisa rolled past them, hit the ropes and then took both down with a double drop kick. As Jamie got to her feet, Sakisama came to life and took her down with another Academy Award Kick! Utami pulled herself up on the ropes, shaking the cobwebs out. Finding herself outnumbered, Tam looked prepared to fight the trio for a moment. Arisa shouted at the top of her lungs and unleashed a Pulsar Kick - it hit AZM instead as she threw herself in the path of Arisa's strike! Tam looked at the trio again, shook her head and rolled out of the ring, pulling AZM with her.
The fans booed as Oedo Tai walked to the back, Tam shouting about how 'you're all doomed! This isn't over!'
Nigel McGuinness:An odd trio here has fought off Oedo Tai, but I'm at a loss as to why Arisa came out to help Sakisama.
Arisa watched her rival leave, then turned around to see the French Aristocrat standing there. For a long tense moment neither woman made a move. They were clearly feeling each other out, given their very different mindsets. Finally Sakisama began to applaud politely, as did the blue-faced Utami. The Shining Star shrugged, then made a move to leave the ring. She stopped as Sakisama called out her name.
When Arisa turned around, she was surprised to see Sakisama offering her a single red rose. Seeing that reaction, Sakisama dramatically flourished the rose and nodded to Arisa. She was inviting the Queen of the Ring to join Neo Biishiki-Gun! Arisa stared at the flower, then Utami and finally exited the ring. 'Starship' hit as Arisa walked to the back, playing to the crowd as they chanted her name.
Nigel McGuinness: Sakisama has been saying for weeks that a war was coming, and warning people to take the right side. She's mentioned Arisa several times, and now it's clear she wants the Shining Star to join her.
Mauro Ranallo: Arisa's turned her down this time, but can she continue on alone? And what other teams might we see form in the coming months? For now, we have more exciting EBWF action coming right up!
After a video package promoting Fanniversary, the camera cut back to Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness at ringside.
Mauro Ranallo: Up next, it’s time for the Breakout Championship open challenge! Who will step up to challenge Adam Cole for the Breakout Title this week?
“All About Tha (Boom!)” hit and the crowd cheered as Adam Cole made his way to the ring, the Breakout and Gateway Championships draped over his shoulders. Upon entering the ring, Cole held up both titles as the crowd shouted “Adam Cole bay-bay”, then handed them to the referee. As Cole’s music was cut, he began pacing back and forth, waiting to see who would accept the open challenge. “My Time To Fly” hit and the crowd gave a mixed reaction as Matt Sydal stepped out onto the stage.
Mauro Ranallo: Well this is interesting, Nigel… answering the open challenge is the artist formerly known as Evan Bourne, Matt Sydal, who was the first ever EBWF Gateway Champion!
Nigel McGuinness: Sydal has an interesting history here in EBWF, Mauro, and he has history with Adam Cole too… they’ve known each other since their Ring of Honor days! This is sure to be a great match, but I’ve gotta say I reckon Sydal’s chances of winning tonight are about as likely as catching a bullet with your ankles…
As Sydal entered the ring, he and Cole shook hands. The referee then called for the bell and the two men began circling the ring, waiting for one another to make the first move. They locked up in the center of the ring, and Sydal applied an arm twist, which he transitioned into a hammerlock. Cole fought out of it and put Sydal in a headlock, but Sydal broke free and whipped Cole against the ropes. As Cole hit the ropes, Sydal went for a dropkick, but Cole held onto the ropes, meaning the dropkick didn’t connect. As Sydal got back to his feet, Cole ran towards him, taking Sydal down with a shoulder block. Sydal got back up, and Cole hit a swinging neckbreaker, then hooked the leg. The referee counted - 1… 2… Sydal kicked out! Cole pulled Sydal to his feet and whipped him into the corner, then ran at him, going for a knee strike, but Sydal got his feet up and kicked Cole away, knocking him down to the mat. Sydal then climbed to the top rope, before hitting Cole with a missile dropkick!
Mauro Ranallo: Great aerial skill there by Matt Sydal!
Cole rolled out of the ring, giving himself a moment to recover, but Sydal gave Cole know time to recover, leaping over the ropes and hitting a tope con hilo! Sydal then whipped Cole back into the ring and climbed to the top rope again, this time hitting Cole with a diving double knee drop! He pinned Cole’s shoulders to the mat and hooked the leg as the referee counted - 1… 2… Cole kicked out! As Cole got to his feet, Sydal went for a roundhouse kick, but Cole dodged it, getting behind Sydal and hitting a release German suplex. Both men got to their feet and Cole hit Sydal with a series of punches, but Sydal fought back with some right hands of his own, then went to whip Cole against the ropes. Cole reversed the Irish whip, sending Sydal into the ropes before hitting a superkick! He hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Sydal kicked out! Cole pulled Sydal to his feet and set him up for a suplex, but Sydal blocked it, then hit an enzuigiri. Cole looked dazed, and Sydal followed up with a series of kicks before leaping onto Cole’s shoulders, hitting a reverse hurricanrana!
Nigel McGuinness: Sydal drilled Cole’s head into the mat there… and the Breakout Champion could be in trouble!
Cole was laid out on the mat, and Sydal climbed to the top rope, going for the Shooting Star Press… but Cole got his knees up and blocked it! As Sydal clutched his ribs, Cole went to the top rope, before hitting the Panama Sunrise! Cole hooked both legs, and the referee counted - 1… 2… Sydal kicked out! As both men got to their feet, Cole feinted a superkick, before catching Sydal with a superkick to the knee. As Sydal fell to his knees, Cole caught him with a low dropkick, then pulled down his kneepad and ran against the ropes, hitting The Boom! Cole hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… 3!
Mauro Ranallo: It’s over! A second successful Breakout Title defense for Adam Cole, and what a match we’ve just witnessed!
Nigel McGuinness: I respect Adam Cole for being a fighting champion, Mauro, but you have to wonder how long he can keep this up. He had to work hard to beat Matt Cardona last week, and you can see he’s feeling the effects of his match with Matt Sydal tonight. If he keeps taking on all comers, he’s going to get banged up, and that could cost him not only the Breakout Title, but the Gateway Championship too.
Cole celebrated his victory as Warfare went to a commercial break.
When Warfare returned from the commercial break, Christian Cage and Seth Rollins were on their way to the ring for the next match.
Mauro Ranallo: Welcome back! Up next, it’s time for our main event. Christian Cage and Seth Rollins team up to take on MJF and Richard Holliday!
When Christian and Rollins were in the ring, “Better Than You” hit and the crowd booed as MJF and Richard Holliday headed to the ring. Christian and Richard Holliday started the match, and as the bell rang, Christian and Holliday exchanged right hands back and forth. Christian gained the upper hand, and went to whip Holliday against the ropes… but Holliday reversed it, whipping Christian into the ropes before hitting a shoulder block. As Christian got back to his feet, Holliday set Christian up for a suplex, but Christian blocked it, hitting a swinging neckbreaker then stomping on Holliday several times before tagging in Seth Rollins. As Rollins entered the ring, he hit Holliday with a knee drop, then hooked the leg. The referee counted - 1… 2… Holliday kicked out! Rollins pulled Holiday to his feet, and put him in a headlock… but Holliday countered it, lifting Rollins up and hitting a back drop! Holliday then tagged in MJF, and upon entering the ring MJF hit Rollins with a series of punches, before hitting a DDT. MJF hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Rollins kicked out! As MJF got to his feet, he yelled at the ref, telling him to count faster, then began stomping on Rollins.
Nigel McGuinness: MJF making his feelings known to the referee there… he wants this match over as quickly as possible so he can get the hell out of Dodge!
Mauro Ranallo: We’re not in Dodge, Nigel… we’re in Wichita!
Nigel McGuinness: Close enough… it’s the same state, isn’t it?!
MJF pulled Rollins to his feet and hit him with an uppercut, then dragged him to the ropes, setting him up for the Heatseeker. Rollins blocked it and hit MJF with a forearm smash, before leaping up onto the top rope and hitting a springboard clothesline! Rollins then dragged MJF towards the corner, and tagged Christian back into the match. As Christian entered the ring, he stomped on MJF several times, then grabbed him by the legs, going for a sharpshooter, but MJF kicked Christian away and got back to his feet. MJF ran at Christian, going for a clothesline, but Christian ducked underneath it, then hit MJF in the back of the knee! As MJF cried out in pain, Christian whipped MJF into the corner, and as Rollins held MJF in place, Christian hit him with a Stinger splash, then followed up with a series of chops to the chest.
Mauro Ranallo: It’s rare we see MJF in jeopardy like this, but Christian and Seth Rollins are working well together here, and you’ve got to say that MJF needs to make the tag to Richard Holliday!
Christian sat MJF on the top rope, setting him up for a superplex… but MJF countered into a sunset flip powerbomb! He hooked both legs and the referee counted - 1… 2… Christian kicked out! MJF limped towards the corner, tagging in Richard Holliday, and as Holliday entered the ring he ran at Christian, taking him down with a clothesline. As Christian got back to his feet, Holliday whipped him against the ropes, and as Christian hit the ropes, Seth Rollins made the blind tag. As Christian ran back towards him, Holliday hit a powerslam, then hooked the leg… but the referee informed Holliday that Christian wasn’t the legal man! As Holliday argued with the referee, Rollins entered the ring and hit Holliday with a running knee strike, then followed up with a superkick! He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... MJF interrupted the count! As MJF attacked Rollins, Christian entered the ring to come to his partner’s aid, and a brawl broke out between all four men before the referee was able to restore order. As the referee was ordering MJF out of the ring, Christian hit Holliday with a low blow… but the referee didn’t see it! Christian then quickly moved back onto the ring apron, and as the referee turned around, Christian called for the tag. Rollins tagged him in, then ran across the ring, knocking MJF off the apron before exiting the ring and attacking MJF on the outside. Meanwhile in the ring, Christian hit Richard Holliday with the Unprettier! He hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… 3!
Nigel McGuinness: It’s over! What a victory for Christian Cage and Seth Rollins… they outsmarted the dWo!
Christian exited the ring, and he and Rollins made their way up the ramp celebrating. MJF entered the ring to check on Richard Holliday, and the two dWo members got into an argument as Warfare went off the air.
