Goldberg: "Rex Steiner! You’ve got a big mouth, kid. And now you’ve got a big problem."
The heartbeat of drums grows louder, synchronized with flashes of Goldberg’s iconic streak in WCW. Clips of him marching through the backstage area, the Pyro exploding around him, and delivering devastating spears and Jackhammers to his opponents light up the screen.
Goldberg: "You think you’re tough? You think you’re the future? I’ve seen a hundred guys like you come and go. Cocky, loud, thinkin’ they’re untouchable. But the difference between them and me? I didn’t just talk about being untouchable. I didn’t just sit and run my mouth trying to avoid an ass-kicking. I was unstoppable. And I kicked everyone’s ass!"
The visuals shift to Goldberg standing over legendary opponents: Hulk Hogan, Scott Steiner, etc. Each one is laid out, with Goldberg roaring in victory, sweat dripping from his face as the crowd chants his name. The screen abruptly cuts to footage of Rex Steiner. His cold, calculating stare. The vicious suplexes. The relentless attack on Rick and Scott Steiner at the PWI Legends Award Ceremony. Goldberg’s voice returns, sharper this time.
Goldberg: "Then there’s you, Rex. You don’t just run your mouth. No, you go beyond that as a pain in the ass. You attack your blood; you attack my friends! You put your father and your uncle in the hospital because you thought it’d make you a star. You don’t respect this business, and you sure as hell don’t respect them. Which means there is a snowball’s chance you respect me. That is fine. Because kid, you’re about to learn respect the hard way."
Goldberg steps into the frame, shirtless, his fists taped. The camera focuses on his intense eyes as he speaks directly to Rex Steiner.
Goldberg: "You want to take me out of the game? You want my career? You want to make a name for yourself by taking down that man who was “Da Man” Goldberg? Let me tell you something, kid. At Christmas Eve of Destruction, you’re not stepping into the ring with just Bill Goldberg. You’re stepping into the ring with a damn freight train who looks to only do right by his friends. A man who was appalled at a family falling apart. A man willing to step in and give a lesson in humility by any means."
The visuals cut to Goldberg in the gym, sweat pouring off his body as he delivers crushing blows to a punching bag. The thudding impact echoes as he continues speaking.
Goldberg: "I don’t care how strong you are, how young you are, or how much you think you’ve got this whole thing figured out. You’ve never faced someone like me! When that bell rings, all the talking stops. All your plans? They go up in smoke. And all that’s left is me spearing your ass into next week and putting you down for good!"
The vignette shifts back to his most iconic moments: the streak, the pyro-laden entrances, and the Jackhammers. Each moment punctuates his words.
Goldberg: "You’re not the future, Rex. You’re just another guy who’s about to learn the same lesson everyone else did back then. I’m not just another wrestler here to put on a good match. I’m here to destroy you!"
The screen fades to black for a moment, before the words "Goldberg vs. Rex Steiner – No-Holds Barred – Goldberg's Career on the Line" appear in bold white letters. Goldberg’s deep growl cuts through the silence one final time.
Goldberg: "Rex Steiner, my career may be on the line, and you may think that means you’re last. But no, you’ll see by the end of the night you’re only next!"
The vignette ends with the sound of a spear crashing into someone, followed by a single frame of Goldberg standing over a fallen opponent, roaring as the screen fades out.
