It is being reported that John Cena’s father has once again been hospitalized and was flown emergency to Massachusetts General Hospital early this morning by medical helicopter and will be undergoing a major life-saving cardiovascular surgery.
John Cena Sr. has been in declining health for the past two years and a source close to the family that wishes to remain unnamed cites “complications from CHF and COPD,” of which Cena Sr. is “deteriorating fast.”
Though it is not commonly known, current EBWF World Champion, John Cena, most likely developed his love for wrestling from his father and we may in fact have Cena Sr. to thank for the addition of his oldest son and namesake to the world of wrestling. Though he has since left the business due to his health issues, Cena Sr. had actually been a part of the wrestling industry for years working primarily in the independent circuit as a promoter, announcer, the effervescent in-ring personality “Johnny Fabulous,” and the President and silent owner of the independent promotion, Millennium Wrestling Federation. The wrestling world also was able to witness him appearing in storylines with his son years ago when Cena Jr. and Randy Orton were working together in the WWE.
