OOC: So I've decided to take Will's advice from my last Rp and expand on Ted's life out of the ring. Reading my old Rps I thought I'd revisit one of my old stories, where I had Ted divorce his high school sweetheart. I don't generally do many out of the ring stories, so some feedback on this would be great, it's fairly long for me as well but that's because there was a lot to write.

Scene 1

Ted had made his personal life a secret to everyone in EBWF ever since he divorced his high school sweetheart in 2010. The divorce had been a very messy affair between the two and since then Ted had never really gotten close to anyone and committed himself to a relationship, sure since the divorce had been finalised he had dabbled in the occasional fling but nothing ever came from them. He had never found that one person that he clicked with. None of his flings compared to Kristen. He had known Kristen since high school and hadn't heard from her in over a year. Ted was relaxing at his home in Tampa after a gruelling week. He was lucky to have the weekend off before going back on the road. Since joining EBWF Ted's only time off was spent rehabbing injuries, which wasn't really time off at all. But Ted never complained, he loved what he did and he didn't want it to stop. Ted was sitting comfortably in his living room, spread out on a Lazy Boy reclining chair. While watching TV, Ted was surprised to hear his phone ring. The phone was placed on a table, directly next to Ted's chair, so Ted leaned over and picked up the phone.

Ted Jr: Hello.

???: Hello Ted.

Ted's carefree and joyful attitude quickly faded after hearing only two words. It wasn't the words; it was the person saying the words that made Ted quickly put his recliner chair down. Ted sat partially hunched over in his seat.

Ted Jr: It's been so long. I thought you wanted nothing to do with me anymore.

???: You know that it's not that simple Ted, we had been together since high school, you can't just forget someone you've known for that long in a couple of years.

Ted Jr: I realise that Kristen but why now? Why call me?

Kristen: We never really talked over things and it all ended quite badly.

"Badly is an understatement." Ted thought. This was the woman that had cheated on Ted while he was on the road. For a long time Ted had resented her and hated her for what she had done, but after a while he moved on. What happened couldn't be changed, the future could.

Ted Jr: So what now?

Kristen: Do you want to meet for coffee tomorrow?

Ted hesitated for a second. Could he face her after two years? What did she really want? Did she want to get back together? A thousand thoughts raced through Ted's head.

Kristen: Hello? Are you there Ted?

Ted focused in after being distracted.

Ted Jr: I'm still here. So does coffee tomorrow at 9 sound good? Is Starbucks alright?

Kristen: Sounds great, I'll see you tomorrow. Bye, Ted.

Ted Jr: Bye.

Ted ended the call and sat back in his chair. After two years he would be meeting up with Kristen. He was nervous and didn't know what to expect. It was like high school all over again, going out on his first date with Kristen. Ted couldn't be sure what would happen tomorrow, he'd just have to wait and find out.

Scene 2

Ted sat anxiously in the Starbucks, waiting for Kristen. He still wasn't sure what to expect. Ted had been in all sorts of hellacious matches, and had even been held at knife point by Brian Kendrick but it still didn't give him the nerves like he was experiencing now. He sat at a table with a clear view of the door, on his table were two coffees, one for him and one for Kristen. The Starbucks was filled with patrons all talking loudly but it all became white noise to Ted as he saw the door to the Starbucks open and he saw Kristen walk in. This was the moment of truth for Ted, fight or flight, nut up or shut up. Everything seemed to slow down around Ted as he stared at his high school sweet heart and ex-wife. Time soon returned to normal as Kristen saw Ted and walked towards his table. Ted stood up and the two exchanged a look.

Kristen: Hi Ted.

Ted Jr: Hi Kristen.

The scene felt awkward and both realised. Ted quickly tried to relieve the awkwardness by motioning to Kristen for her to take a seat. Once Kristen was seated Ted sat opposite her.

Ted Jr: I got you a Grande Caffè Latte, that's what you used to have wasn't it?

Kristen looked at Ted, surprised that he still remembered.

Kristen: Thanks Ted.

It still seemed quite tense between the two. Ted wanted to ease into the conversation but against his better judgment he went all or nothing.

Ted Jr: Why meet me now after two years? Last time we saw each other you seemed pretty certain that you wanted nothing to do with me.

Kristen: I know, but after I left you I bounced from relationship to relationship but nothing ever seemed to work like we did. I came back to Tampa because I wanted to see you, to try to make things right. I know that what I did was wrong.

"Wrong doesn't even come close to it. You slept around while I was working, trying to provide for you." All of Ted's thoughts screamed for him to yell at her, to condemn her for her actions. Ted wanted to vent the frustrations that he had held in for two years but he couldn't. Ted simply sat in silence, taking sips of his coffee as Kristen continued speaking.

Kristen: The past is the past, now and I want to move on and I hope you do too.

"She cheated on me with random guys and she wants to move on? No sorry? No explanation?" There was a large part of Ted that wanted to erupt, but there was another part of Ted that wanted to make it work. That part of Ted thought that he might have another chance with her.

Ted Jr: You're right, we can't change the past. We've both done things we regret and it's time to put that aside.

Kristen: Things won't go back to how they were before, but I want things to change for us now.

Ted finished off his coffee and put the cup back on the table. His phone began to ring and he took it from out of his pocket.

Ted Jr: Sorry about this, but I have to take this.

Ted stood up from the table and walked off to take the call.

Ted Jr: Hello... alright, when do you need me there? As soon as possible? Ok, I'll take the first flight I can get.

Ted ended the call and returned back to where Kristen was sitting.

Ted Jr: I'm really sorry that I have to cut this short but they need me to do some media talks to promote Warfare, so I have to catch a plane out to Seattle. The perks of being a champion I guess.

Kristen: That's alright Ted, believe me I'm used to this now. When will you be back next?

Ted Jr: Probably Friday night at the earliest, but I should get Saturday off and maybe Sunday.

Kristen: I want to see you next week Ted, can we meet up again?

Ted Jr: Sure, I'd like that.

Kristen stood up and hugged Ted. The hug lingered just a little longer than Ted expected before Kristen retracted. Ted left the Starbucks and waved back to Kristen. He hailed a cab and quickly made his way to the airport and off to Seattle.

Scene 3

The King of the Ring tournament was a huge event for EBWF and being a champion it was Ted's responsibility to promote EBWF and also the King of the Ring tournament. Ted appeared at Seattle's biggest radio station, set to go on the air. He dressed professionally wearing his best suit and holding his championship over his shoulder. Entering the studio, he was greeted by the DJ who at the time was not on the air. He shook Ted's hand and sat back down in his seat. Ted found a seat and was counted in by one of the assistants.

DJ: And welcome back everybody, we've got a special guest in the studio right now. He is an EBWF wrestler and champion, Ted DiBiase. Nice to have you with us Ted.

Ted Jr: Good to be here.

Ted didn't really sound genuine and the DJ noticed.

DJ: So tonight Warfare will be broadcast live from the KeyArena and it will be a night that cannot be missed, am I correct?

Ted Jr: You're correct. For the next several weeks leading up to the King of the Ring PPV, EBWF holds a King of the Ring tournament and a Queen of the Ring tournament where everyone from EBWF competes, apart from the World Champion and Women's Champion.

DJ: So there are two tournaments going on? Sounds like it’s going to be an action filled night.

Ted Jr: With the winner of the King of the Ring tournament receiving a World Championship match, everybody is giving 100%. Right now we're finishing off the first round of the tournament.

DJ: And if I'm correct, you'll be facing Jack Swagger in the opening match.

Ted Jr: You're right, but it's going to be an easy match for me. If you look at the championship that I have, it shows that I am better than him. I'll be happy to beat him quickly and get out of this dump.

DJ: I don't think you'll make get many fans calling Seattle a dump.

Ted Jr: Do you think I care, I have money, fame, looks and this championship. I don't need ungrateful fans at all.

DJ: You heard it everybody, if you want to see Jack Swagger beat Ted DiBiase, Warfare is live at the KeyArena.

Ted let out a laugh, hearing the DJ's jab at him. Ted got up from his seat and looked to leave, but only before having the final say.

Ted Jr: If you want to see Jack Swagger be annihilated, and this idiot DJ be proven wrong buy a ticket. My name is Ted DiBiase, I'm the Path to Glory Champion and the future King of the Ring. Oh yeah, Seattle sucks.

Ted left the studio, with the DJ throwing him a filthy look. Ted smirked and walked out like he was king of the world, and in a few short weeks he very well could be.

Scene 4

Another PPV had come and gone and once again Ted walked out still the Path to Glory Champion. Ted had not lost a singles match on Pay Per View since returning and had been successful in retaining his championship against all competitors. After Death Before Dishonor, Ted's plans were falling into place. Bully Ray had appeared as Ted's first new recruit, but that left one more spot open. But before Ted could think about that he had other things to worry about. The next major Pay Per View would be King of the Ring. Every year there had been a tournament to crown a King of the Ring and the winner would receive a World Championship match at Summerslam. This would be Ted's chance to climb the EBWF ladder and once again become a World Champion. His first opponent would be a formidable one, a former All American athlete and WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Swagger. Ted would not have to change his tactics drastically, as Swagger's style was very similar to Angle's. Ted still believed that he would be able to win, given his string of impressive wins.

At a house show in Washington after a competitive match, the small but very vocal crowd were being thrilled by the performance that they were subject to so far. Before the next match began the opening riff to Heroes by Shinedown played before cutting out, along with the lights to the entire arena. The crowd were very confused and their initial boos for the arrival of Ted DiBiase turned to silence for the unknown. The lights remained off and there was a still silence around the arena. The silence was brought to an end when a voice was heard.

Ted Jr: With one flick of a switch I have controlled all of you.

Ted's voice set off boos from the crowd. A spotlight from the roof turned on and it was directed towards the stage where Ted DiBiase was standing. Ted wore a stylish suit, which easily cost thousands of dollars; his Path to Glory Championship was placed around his waist.

Ted Jr: You are all afraid of the unknown, and because of that I can manipulate all of you.

Ted spoke as he walked down to the ring. The spotlight remained on him at all times.

Ted Jr: You might be wondering why there is a spotlight on me. It's simple. I have no desire to look out to any of you. I do not want to see any of you pathetic sheep.

This insult sent majority of the crowd off, with boos and insults from crowd members occurring directly after Ted paused.

Ted Jr: Go ahead and boo me because at the end of the day you all know that I am better than you in every way possible. I've got more money than you, I'm better looking than you and I'm more successful than you. I have the power to buy off each and every one of you if I wanted to. But I have far better things to spend my money on than mindless sheep. If any of you could afford to watch Death Before Dishonor you would have seen me retain my Path to Glory Championship once again. I have defeated everybody that they have put in front of me; there is no point in even pretending that there is an actual challenge for me.

Several members of the crowd shouted out challenges to Ted, and many continued to boo him.

Ted Jr: The King of the Ring tournament is held every year and it determines who will compete for the World Championship at Summerslam. Now my journey through the tournament should be very simple, first I dispose of the All American American Jack Swagger, who hasn't been relevant since college. My next opponent could be either his partner Dolph Ziggler or the biggest disappointment in EBWF history, Cody Rhodes. But before I concern myself with the future I'll deal with the present. Jack Swagger recently made the jump over to EBWF and now he thinks that he is entitled to everything, tag team title shots, an actual chance in this tournament. But what he doesn't realise is that for the last three years I've made EBWF my home. Jack Swagger has come to make an impact at my expense. That will not be happening. I am the Path to Glory Championship and the King of the Ring tournament will be my chance to finally achieve my deserved title shot.

Ted removed his Path to Glory Championship from around his waist and raised it in the air.

Ted Jr: I will hold this title and the World Championship and you will all bow before me when I become your king.

Ted dropped his microphone and left the ring. The spotlight continued to follow him as he left the arena.

Scene 5

Matt Striker: Good evening everyone and welcome to Warfare, live from the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington. We continue the first round matches in the King of the Ring tournament and Queen of the Ring tournament. With me at this time is the Path to Glory champion and the man who will take on Jack Swagger in the opening match, Ted DiBiase.

The scene showed Matt Striker and Ted DiBiase standing side by side. It wasn't long before Ted was set to go out and compete.

Matt Striker: Ted, you're set to go one on one with the All American American Jack Swagger in a first round match. What is your strategy going into this match?

Ted Jr: I beat Kurt Angle at Death Before Dishonor, how will Swagger be any different? He's nothing more than a wannabe Kurt Angle.

Matt Striker: Swagger is an All American with a very successful wrestling background, how will you combat that?

Ted Jr: I'm simply better than Swagger, he can call himself a great wrestler but I actually back up what I say.

Matt Striker: It was seen at Death Before Dishonor, Bully Ray helped out in your match, signalling an alliance between you two. So it's confirmed that he is an official member of the new Trilogy?

Ted Jr: Bully Ray and I have a working relationship right now, as for calling my assembly of wrestlers the "new" Trilogy, I find that to be insulting. To compare what I'm doing to what the Trilogy did is idiotic. I am assembling some of the greatest wrestlers in the industry and we will change it. We will be the revolution that this business needs.

Matt Striker: Would you care to tell us who else will be in your group?

Ted looked at Striker with a foul look.

Ted Jr: And why would I ruin the surprise for everyone? Now if you'll excuse me I have a match to win.

Ted left the interview set and went off to compete on his match. The first round in the King of the Ring tournament would be full of surprises, but Ted needed a win in order to keep his World Championship dreams alive.

KYLE!!!

:homer I love this RP. Seems like something I would've wrote. lol. The second scene was nice, enjoyed the random narration between the conversation. Good promo work in the end. You're getting better and better. I noticed a few typos here and there, but that doesn't take away from the story you told. Good work!

I second this. I think you got to get back to what helped you be the world champion in the first place. :)
