JERRY LAWLER
It’s over! We have a new champion!

The words Sami knew he was going to hear at the end of his match, he was prepared but disappointed at the title change but he knew the title was in capable hands as we headed towards WrestleMania. He felt he was a worthy champion during his sting, and knew that getting his first taste of gold would only pump him up further to try harder and get that feeling as soon as possible, for now the focus was on getting as many as boo’s as possible for Trent as he smacked Sami over the head with the championship, but the new short-term focus was getting to WrestleMania; his first potential WrestleMania in the company and he would do whatever it took to get there. After Trent had knocked Sami Zayn over with the Intercontinental Championship, Sami stayed on the canvas for a while before rolling over on to his front and looking at Trent on stage; Sami played his role of the nearly-man incredibly well and sold his emotions brilliantly to the EBWF Universe who were still with Sami and would continue to support him and the loud ‘Ole’ chants over rent’s theme music showed that. Eventually Sami got to his knees, obviously tired from his great match with Trent and knew the two put on a great show for the fans. He shook his head in disagreement as he held the left side of his neck in pain with the referee helping him up to his feet. Sami was offered assistance from the referee to walk up the ramp but Sami refused the help and left the referee alone inside of the ring as attention was slowly going to turn to the next match. He continued to milk the reaction out of the fans, but not looking up at them or acknowledging their loyal support but they understood. Instead he looked down at the ramp where he was walking as he dragged his tired body slowly up the ramp, still holding his neck and selling the effects of the title shot to the head. There was no music playing as Trent’s had stopped but the ‘Ole’ chants continued and eventually Sami stopped on the ramp and the fans cheered. He slowly turned around but avoided any eye contact with the audience, instead he stared up high at the ceiling with the huge WrestleMania sign staring right back at him. He nodded his head, realising he was well and truly beaten in this match, and that WrestleMania was now looking like an unlikely possibility.

He reached backstage, and the EBWF cameras had followed him so he was forced to stay into character as he slowly made his way through the corridors, turning left and right as he tried to reach his locker room without falling to his knees live on air. Before he could reach the locker room, he was stopped in his tracks by Michael Cole who attempted to catch a few words with the now former Intercontinental Champion. He called Sami out a number of times and Sami somehow didn’t hear him, before jumping as he turned around as Cole stood there with a microphone and camera in his face.

MICHAEL COLE
Umm…Sami, I understand this may be a bad time but if you can, could you tell us how you’re feeling right now after you…lost your Intercontinental Championship to Trent?

Sami exhaled and looked down on to the ground and then surprisingly chuckled under his breath, seeming to be a little bit more upbeat than he let on but it was clear on his face and from his croaked voice that the loss had affected him. He didn’t look up at Cole or the camera, opting to tend to his neck and look down towards the ground whilst answering everything Cole had to ask.

SAMI ZAYN
Ha…I don’t think there would ever be a good time for this but I understand, it’s your job. Right now…I’m feeling a little dizzy, a little angry, a little upset, frustrated in myself for not connecting with that kick on his smug face but there’s nothing I or anybody else can do about it, whether I like it or not and whether my fans like it or not, I lost my title to Trent regardless of how many promises I made that I’d go to my first WrestleMania with my championship intact. I’m a little hurt, but I can only apologise to the fans for their support. But you know…it’s not the end of the world, Cole. Everybody who knows me knows my story, I have never done anything the easy way and some are still shocked that I was signed by this company let alone hold a prestigious championship so I think I’ve done good for myself. I’ve had a lot more downs than ups in the wrestling industry and this is a feeling I’m used to. If the EBWF hierarchy had no idea who I am then they need to realise and understand that this isn’t the last they’ve seen of Sami Zayn and I will be back.

MICHAEL COLE
What do you bring this loss down to? I mean, we all saw that vicious attack from Trent, Lance Storm and even Chris Jericho as they tried to take you out from this match. You showed your fighting attitude but perhaps that attack had some effect on you not being 100% tonight?

SAMI ZAYN
Well you’re right I’m not 100% thanks to that attack, but there’s no way I’m letting Trent, Chris Jericho or Lance Storm think they are the reason I lost. Sure…that attack wasn’t pretty but I showed my heart when I turned up here to fight and look at the trouble Trent was in tonight. I might not have been 100% but in the end I didn’t give enough of my body into this match and in the end the…the better man won and Trent goes to WrestleMania with the gold, it’s as simple as that.

MICHAEL COLE
Well what is next for Sami Zayn? I mean you were so adamant that you will get to WrestleMania and do this for your fans, but not everybody books their spot on the show, now with a big loss like that how will you recover? Actually, do you think you’ll even get o WrestleMania now?

SAMI ZAYN
I was adamant, I was confident in myself and what I can do, in the end it wasn’t enough. If I was a little smarter, if I was a little bit quicker then I would’ve knocked Trent’s head off and right now you’d be asking me what if feels like to defend my championship, unfortunately you’re not. I let my fans down and I know Trent hit me with a pretty tough cheap shot out there so my hearing might be failing me, but that sounded like the fans still love Sami Zayn. Not everyone books their spot on the show and I will recover like I always have, dust myself off and fighting through every single obstacle standing in my way…will I get to WrestleMania? You bet your ass I’ll be there Michael, one way or another Sami Zayn will not only walk into WrestleMania in a match, but his music will be playing and the fans will be chanting because I will walk out as the winner.

Sami’s determined face grew once more as he walked away from Michael Cole who was standing there with the cameraman. The camera focused on Sami walking further down the corridor as the cameras shot back to the arena with the next math ready to begin.

Monday 2nd March 2015 – Monday Night Warfare – BB&T Center – Sunrise; Florida

Fallout was now in the books and the night saw plenty of new champions being crowned, including Sasha Banks being crowned the new Women’s Champion whilst Solomon Crowe dropped the gold to AJ Styles in the Elimination Chamber match; so Sami knew the former champions would probably be feeling the same way he is right now and everyone would deal with it their own way. Different champions had different styles, the work-horse that is John Cena was ordered to take time off before returning at Fallout, Sami wasn’t going anywhere though, he was booked for a match tonight and had to erase the Fallout memories and focus towards the main goal. When fans least expected it, Worlds Apart by CFO$ blasted the PA system and the fans erupted in cheers as Sami Zayn danced his way on to the stage, donning the ‘InZayn’ t-shirt over his wrestling tights, he was in a better mood tonight and ready for his upcoming match. Christy Hemme welcomed him to the EBWF Universe as he shouted “Let’s Go” into the camera before dancing down the ramp and jumping on to the steel steps. He eventually got into the ring and was handed a microphone as he walked around the ring, raring to go as the ‘Ole’ chants broke out and he applauded the fans quickly for the support. Eventually his music faded out and he walked into the centre of the ring and addressed the EBWF Universe.

SAMI ZAYN
What an event Fallout was, right? Yep…sounds like you guys had a great night. I mean we saw the returns of Brock Lesnar and John Cena! That was cool, right? And now their WrestleMania match is official! We crowned a new Women’s Champion in Sasha Banks! What a match that was, and she deserves it. Tyler Breeze and CJ Parker, amazing effort from two guys who have fought their way to get where they are and deservedly so. And then…Solomon Crowe lost his World Championship title. Ooooh yeah…sounds like you liked that one. Well, I for one am glad you all had a good night, and got your money’s worth but for me….well my night was a little bit mixed. I mean as a wrestling fan I enjoyed it a hell of a lot but as an EBWF superstar…it kinda sucked. As you know my waist feels a little but empty and that’s because I lost the Intercontinental Championship to Trent, and you know what? It’s okay. I’m not even angry, I’m motivated. I’ve never been one to run away from anything, I’m not going to take my ball and go home, I’m not going to stay in bed like a stroppy teenager for the next month and I’m not going to bury my head in the sand and pretend it never happened, what I’m going to do tonight is do what I do best and that’s to put on a great show for everyone here tonight and win and unfortunately for Ted DiBiase he’s the one who will feel the brunt of my previous frustration and there are no hard feelings but he’s going to need to deal with another loss to Sami Zayn.

Fans cheered as Sami was highly motivated tonight, taking on Ted DiBiase in just a short while but as expected, the champion did have a lot he wanted to say and get off of his chest.

SAMI ZAYN
I’ve been in the EBWF for a number of months now and I’ve achieved a lot, I captured the Intercontinental Championship, I’ve met some great guys and girls at the back, gained more fans but the one thing that many people will think has eluded me is main eventing that…WrestleMania. Some of the guys are super-lucky, they’ve got their matches and that’s what I want. I want John Cena to finally slay the beast Brock Lesnar once and for all. Do I think it’ll happen? That’s a different question but there’s not a guy in the back including myself who would want to take Cena’s spot, but good luck to him. I’ve had a number of great matches here, not forgetting the match against Trent, my battles with Dolph, Justin and Ted also…we now have a new World Champion in AJ Styles and we have our main event, Dolph Ziggler will battle for the title. A lot of people like to stir things up between myself and Dolph but one thing we have in common is we want to win and his drive to win got him that main event and regardless of what he thinks of me and what I think of him or who has defeated who…I’m going to be the first one in his corner rooting for him to capture that World Championship so we have a deserved World Champion because it’s been FAR too long since we had one!

Fans cheered as Sami signalled his support for Dolph to capture the World Championship, and knew he had it in him to become a deserving World Champion and there wasn’t a grander stage to do it at than WrestleMania.

SAMI ZAYN
I wish…I could have hyped myself up and mentioned my own name into the mix, but the harsh reality is that at Fallout Sami Zayn wasn’t good enough. But…I’m still here. I’m still standing and just like always the reliable Sami Zayn turns up to Warfare ready to compete against whoever stands in his way, tonight it’s Ted DiBiase and if my memory serves me right, Ted has yet to pin me in the EBWF. The last time I mixed it up with Ted he was playing second fiddle to AJ Styles who also refused to turn up to our match but that’s for a different time. What matters tonight is that Ted DiBiase understands just who is getting in the ring with. This isn’t an ordinary Sami Zayn, this isn’t a broken man who has lost his championship, this is someone highly motivated, with plenty of heart and enough anger to bring you back down to reality if you ever think you can defeat me. You have failed to beat me on a number of occasions and since we last compered only I went on to bigger and better things. Whereas you…you’re still…you’re still the same old Ted DiBiase everyone is used to and has gotten bored of, and they used to call me generic. But Ted, there is something I need you for, you see I’m going to make you feel like you belong, like you matter and I need you for inspiration.

Fans wondered what Sami was talking about as he walked in circles around the ring and thought to himself, scratching his chin and smiling before raising the microphone to speak again.

SAMI ZAYN
I need you Ted, more than anyone else has ever needed you before. What I need from you is that ruthless aggression you have, where you don’t fear to take out anyone and everyone standing in your way, whether it’s by yourself when you attacked Daniel Bryan or whether it’s part of a group because you can’t do the job on your own. I need to look you in your eye when your shoulders are pinned to this mat and I need to know how to use that to my advantage and whether you like it or not, I’ll find out and use it against you. But most importantly, I need you because you’re a former World Champion. Against all the odds, regardless of who told you that you couldn’t do it and I know exactly what that feels like, you became the World Champion and achieved something people can only dream of. But I need you as my inspiration, because as you know I lost my championship just like YOU lost your championship and if there’s one thing I need from you it’s that I need to know what to do to not go down the road you have gone down, the road of irrelevance and mediocrity where you’re simply content with appearing, competing and cashing in those checks, there’s no passion, there’s no desire and tonight I’ll prove that when for the third time I pin a World Champion’s shoulders to the mat and make him realise that he is losing to someone who is now…better than him.

The fans cheered at Sami’s attitude as he was determined to go bounce back from a big loss with an even bigger win against Ted DiBiase who was also looking to pick up a win.

SAMI ZAYN
You…you think because you nailed Daniel Bryan in the head you’re now a changed man? Everybody here knows what would happen if Daniel Bryan got you inside of this ring. This time YOU’RE the person standing in my way to WrestleMania and I will do whatever it takes to anyone to get there, whether it’s choking the life out of you with the Koji Clutch and you tapping your WrestleMania chances out of the window or whether I knock you senseless with the Helluva Kick…you won’t win tonight. It’s as simple as that. You want to go on the up, go ahead, continue thinking that, I’m not one to shoot a man’s hopes down because I had the same hopes and dreams, the only difference is I actually go out and do something about it inside of the ring, whereas all you do is talk and fail, talk and fail in a never-ending cycle and in around…three minutes or so this bell will ring and you’ll try to defeat me, but again you will fail, and add another failure on to your long list of failures. You can’t win this match, and I simply will not let you.

Sami dropped the microphone to the outside of the ring as the fans cheered for him wanting to pick up a big victory. He tore off his t-shirt and threw it towards the fans before locking his eyes on the stage, waiting for Ted’s music to hit so he could put on a show.
