The scene went live, inside of a studio set up with an EBWF logo backdrop. There was a set decorated with an end table and potted plant, and two directors style chairs. Seated in the chairs were Renee Young and Trish Stratus. Trish was wearing her Wonder Stratus branded t-shirt with a knee length leather skirt. Renee looked into the camera.
Renee Young: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to welcome my guest at this time, Trish Stratus. Trish thank you for joining me tonight.
Trish Stratus: Thank you for having me.
Renee Young: Trish, later on tonight you will compete in the quarter-final round of the Queen of the Ring tournament.
Trish Stratus: Which also happens to be the first round of the Queen of the Ring tournament, because that is the state our women's division is in, but whatever. Maybe Jim Ross can stop signing this mediocre male talent no one has ever heard of...
Renee Young: Who specifically are you referring to?
Trish Stratus: Matt Riddle? Aiden English? He went out there and dug up RVD and Mankind, but you couldn't get a few decent ladies to make this a tournament? Summer Rae has been with the company for years, and she was demoted for who? Charlotte Flair? On what grounds? What has Charlotte Flair done in EBWF to earn a spot in the Queen of the Ring tournament?
Renee Young: Charlotte is a second generation...
Trish Stratus: I would apologize for cutting you off, Renee, but I absolutely mean to cut you off. So. what? Nobody cares who Charlotte's daddy is, and nobody cares that she's here now. We'll see if she manages to get by Alexa Bliss anyway. I highly doubt she'll be meeting me in the final.
Renee Young: In order to be on the road to the final you have to beat Nikki Cross tonight. Trish, Nikki has made quite the reputation for herself in her short time here in EBWF.
Trish Stratus: She has hasn't she? I mean, it's mostly a reputation for being unhinged and absolutely nothing good comes from her being around, but sure. The mere thought of defeating me tonight made her knock a TV off of it's stand. Has a strange way of showing her excitement that one.
Renee Young: Trish, how do you think you can beat someone with the raw strength of Nikki Cross?
Trish Stratus: That's the thing, Renee. That's all Nikki has on her side, isn't it? Strength. Just brut force. And she puts all of her eggs in that basket. She's not that bright. She's kind of an oaf. She lets her emotions get the best of her, which was the whole point of her having a handler, but she even managed to scare him off.
Renee Young: Nikki mentioned that she was just ten years old when you made your in ring debut. Trish, do you have any plans to wind down your career soon?
Trish Stratus: Wouldn't all these little girls just love that?
She grinned.
Trish Stratus: What you were kind enough not to mention, Renee, is that Nikki also asked if that fact made me feel old. The answer is no, Nikki. It doesn't make me feel old. You just happened to be born after me, congratulations. You're younger. I'm more experienced, and I'm particularly more experienced in this tournament. It's that experience that's going to get me through tonight. I'm in the greatest shape of my life, ask anybody. I've never looked this good. I've never felt this good. I am at the top of my game, and the whole wide world knows that when I'm at the top of my game I am indisputably three things - number one, the quintessential diva. Number two, the best female wrestler in the world, and number three the queen of this and any other ring. You, and the six other women in this tournament are dreaming if you think that I'm not going to have my hand raised in the final and go on to become the Women's Champion at Summerslam.
Renee Young: So, Trish, Nikki Cross wants the glory. What does Trish Stratus want?
Trish Stratus: I want to win. I want to make Nikki Cross another footnote in my storied legacy. That's the only recognition she deserves.
Renee Young: Trish Stratus, thank you. Good luck tonight.
Trish Stratus: Thank you, Renee.
Renee threw the broadcast back to the pre-show as the scene faded.
