MATCH ONE

Mauro Ranallo: Good evening and welcome to the biggest event of the summer... EBWF Summerslam! We are live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. I'm Mauro Ranallo and with me is my broadcast colleague, Nigel McGuinness.

Nigel McGuinness: What a night we've got in store, Mauro! The King and Queen of the Ring get their championship matches as The Rock takes on Chris Jericho for the World Title, and Becky Lynch goes one on one with Trish Stratus for the Women's Championship!

Mauro Ranallo: All four of our matches tonight are championship matches, Nigel... we've also got Darby Allin challenging Randy Orton for the Gateway Title, but up first Tomohiro Ishii defends the Breakout Championship against Luchasaurus and Killer Kross in a triple threat match!

Luchasaurus came to the ring first, followed by Killer Kross and finally Tomohiro Ishii. When all three men were in the ring, the referee called for the bell. Kross charged towards Ishii, taking him down with a big boot, then turned his attention to Luchasaurus. Luchasaurus hit Kross with a series of punches, but Kross fought back with some right hands of his own, then whipped Luchasaurus against the ropes. As Luchasaurus hit the ropes, Kross ran towards him and hit a clothesline, sending Luchasaurus over the top rope. Kross followed Luchasaurus out of the ring then lifted him up, hitting a powerbomb onto the ring apron!

Mauro Ranallo: Mamma Mia! Luchasaurus collided with the hardest part of the ring there... he might be seriously hurt.

As a medic checked on Luchasaurus, Kross rolled back into the ring and locked eyes with Tomohiro Ishii. Ishii challenged Kross to come at him, and Kross did so, going for another big boot. This time Ishii ducked out of the way, and grabbed Kross from behind, hitting a release German suplex. Both men got to their feet, and Ishii hit Kross with a headbutt, then took him down with a DDT. Ishii hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... Kross kicked out! Ishii pulled Kross to his feet and hit him with a series of chops to the chest, then whipped him into the corner. Ishii charged towards Kross, going for a lariat, but Kross moved out of the way, then grabbed Ishii from behind, hitting the Doomsday Saito Suplex! He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... Ishii kicked out!

Nigel McGuinness: Luchasaurus has been taken to the back for medical attention, so this is effectively a one on one match now. Can Killer Kross walk out of here the new Breakout Champion, or will Ishii hold onto the gold?

Kross pulled Ishii to his feet and dragged him towards the corner, slamming his head off the turnbuckle. Kross punched Ishii in the corner several times, then sat him on the turnbuckle, setting Ishii up for a Doomsday Saito Suplex from the top rope. Ishii blocked it, shoving Kross down from the ropes, then hit him with a diving lariat!

Mauro Ranallo: Nigel, I think that might be the first time I've ever seen Ishii hit a move from the top rope!

Nigel McGuinness: The Stone Pitbull can adapt to any situation, Mauro... that's what makes him such an impressive talent!

Both men got to their feet, and Ishii lifted Kross up, hitting the Vertical Drop Brainbuster! He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... 3! The referee called for the bell, then handed the Breakout Title to Ishii and raised his arm in victory.

Mauro Ranallo: Ishii retains once again... is there anyone who can end his reign as Breakout Champion?

MATCH TWO

"I Fell" hit the PA and the crowd cheered for the arrival of Darby Allin.

Mauro Ranallo: Our second match of the night is sure to be high octane as Darby Allin takes on Randy Orton for the EBWF Gateway Championship.

Nigel McGuinness: Do you think Randy is going to turn that in for a title opportunity if he is able to defeat Allin here tonight?

Mauro Ranallo: I think we'll have to see what happens between Jericho and the Rock here tonight.

"Counting Bodies Like Sheep" brought the arrival of the Viper who also received a warm ovation from the crowd.

Nigel McGuinness: Two good guys with the gold on the line here.

Mauro Ranallo: I don't know if I'd call Randy Orton a 'good guy', but the crowd does love him, Nigel.

Randy got into the ring and relinquished the belt to the referee. Both men had their boots checked and the bell rang.

Mauro Ranallo: This one for the history books starts now!

They lock up and Darby moved around Randy and tried to get him into a waist lock, but Orton threw an elbow. Allin caught Orton with a dropkick that sent Orton out of the ring. Darby kept up the pace with a dropkick through the ropes that caught Randy square. Allin hit Orton with a jumping clothesline off the ring apron.

Nigel McGuiness: Darby is trying to overtake strength with speed here.

The two men fought back to the inside. Orton got Allin up in the tree of woe and stomped away in the corner. Orton landed a quick uppercut to Darby who fell to the outside. Randy followed him out, but Darby laid in wait, hitting Orton with a jumping side kick into the barricade on the outside. Darby bounced Orton off the steel steps at ringside and tossed him back inside the ring. Darby climbed up onto the ring apron to get back inside, but Orton hit him with a big dropkick to Allin that sent Darby flying.

Mauro Ranallo: Orton is on the attack now!

On the outside, Orton repeatedly dropped Allin off the ring barricade. Randy tossed Darby back in under the bottom rope, and tried for a quick hook of the leg that was only good for two. Allin connected with an atomic drop, a leg drop and a quick dropkick to Orton for another two count. The crowd cheered at the traded pins. Darby avoided an RKO attempt, but Orton came back connecting with the snap powerslam for a two count. Orton took a rest in the corner for a moment, and Allin missed the corner dropkick when Randy moved out of the way.

Nigel McGuinness: Randy is one slippery snake.

Darby turned and took Randy by surprise with a devastating DDT. Randy was down and Darby climbed to the top rope and went for the Coffin Drop. Orton jumped up...

Mauro Ranallo: RKO! RKO! An inverted RKO from out of nowhere!

1...

Nigel McGuinness: You never know when the viper will strike, Mauro.

2....

3!

Mauro Ranallo: It's over. Orton retains.

Nigel McGuinness: What a Gateway Championship reign this is turning out to be.

MATCH THREE

Mauro Ranallo: Still to come, the 2020 King of the Ring, The Rock, challenges Chris Jericho for the EBWF World Championship. Up first though, we've got the Queen of the Ring Becky Lynch in action as she takes on Trish Stratus for the Women's Championship!

Nigel McGuinness: There is a lot of history between these two women, Mauro. Is tonight going to be the night Becky finally gets her hands on the gold?

After a video package recapping the history between Lynch and Stratus, "Celtic Invasion" hit and the crowd gave a mixed reaction as Becky Lynch made her way to the ring, accompanied by Winter. When Lynch was in the ring, "Bossy" by Kelis hit and the crowd cheered as Trish Stratus stepped out onto the stage, accompanied by Natalya.

Mauro Ranallo: Well it seems the fans here in the Staples Center are behind Trish Stratus, and you have to wonder what effect that will have on Becky Lynch.

Nigel McGuinness: I don't think it will affect her one bit, Mauro. Becky Lynch only needs one person behind her, and that's Becky Lynch. She is one of the most driven superstars I've ever seen... win or lose, she's going to put up one hell of a fight!

After Stratus had entered the ring, Christy Hemme introduced both women.

Christy Hemme: The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the EBWF Women's Championship! Introducing first, the challenger. From Dublin, Ireland, she is the 2020 Queen of the Ring... Becky Lynch!

Once again, there was a mixed reaction for Lynch, but that didn't seem to faze her. She held up her arm triumphantly, as if to signify that her arm would be getting raised at the end of the match.

Christy Hemme: And her opponent, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is the reigning EBWF Women's Champion... Trish Stratus!

The crowd cheered for Trish, who held up the title proudly and began mouthing off to Becky Lynch. The referee took the title from Stratus, held it up, then called for the bell. As soon as the bell rang, Lynch charged towards Stratus, hitting her with a series of punches, then whipped her into the corner. Lynch then hit Stratus with a flying forearm smash, and as Trish staggered out of the corner, Becky got behind her, hitting a hammerlock inverted DDT. Lynch stomped on Stratus several times, before climbing to the top rope and hitting a diving leg drop. She hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... Trish kicked out!

Mauro Ranallo: What a start from Becky Lynch!

Nigel McGuinness: I told you, Mauro... she is desperate to walk out of here with the Women's Championship. You can see the fire in her eyes!

Lynch pulled Stratus to her feet and hit her with some more right hands, then whipped her against the ropes. As Stratus ran back towards her, Lynch went for a back body drop, but Stratus countered it into a sunset flip powerbomb! She hooked both legs and the referee counted – 1... 2... Becky kicked out! Both women got to their feet, and Stratus hit Lynch with a backhand chop. Lynch fought back with a chop of her own, then Trish responded with a right hand to the jaw. Becky rubbed her jaw, then hit Trish with a slap across the face! Trish looked furious, and the two women exchanged right hands back and forth. Trish was able to gain the upper hand, and she whipped Lynch against the ropes, then went for an arm drag... but Lynch blocked it, and hit Stratus with an exploder suplex! As Stratus got to her feet, Lynch hit her with a swinging neckbreaker, then hooked the leg. The referee counted – 1... 2... Trish kicked out! Becky looked frustrated as she got to her feet, and she stomped on Trish's shoulder several times before applying an armbar.

Mauro Ranallo: Becky targeting the injured arm of Trish Stratus... she might not have it bandaged, but after what happened on Warfare a couple of weeks ago there's no way it can be 100 percent.

Nigel McGuinness: Speaking from experience Mauro, sometimes wrestlers will avoid bandaging injured limbs because they know it makes it a target.

Stratus was able to get her foot on the ropes, and the referee ordered Lynch to break the hold. Lynch did so, then pulled Stratus to her feet and set her up for the Manhandle Slam... but Trish blocked it, and hit Becky with a bulldog. She then grabbed Lynch by the legs, locking her in a sharpshooter!

Mauro Ranallo: Well we don't see this from Trish very often! Can she make the Irish Lass Kicker tap out?

The referee asked Lynch if she wanted to submit, but she shook her head and was able to get to the ropes. Trish broke the hold, then pulled Becky to her feet and whipped her into the corner. Stratus charged towards Lynch, going for the Stratus Splash... but Lynch moved out of the way at the last second! After Trish had collided with the turnbuckles, Becky pulled her away from the corner... then threw her shoulder first into the ring post! Trish cried out in pain, clutching her shoulder, and the referee checked on her to see if she could continue. Lynch could be heard yelling "come on you coward", to which Natalya responded "you're the coward!" Lynch looked at Natalya, laughed and shook her head, then began taunting her. Natalya turned her back on Lynch, ignoring her... then charged towards Winter and hit her with a clothesline!

Nigel McGuinness: Natalya knows she can't hit Becky without getting Trish disqualified... so she's going after Winter instead!

As Winter and Natalya brawled at ringside, the referee exited the ring and separated them. He then ordered both women to go to the back, banning them from ringside! Meanwhile, in the ring, Trish Stratus was back on her feet. Lynch charged towards her, but Stratus reacted quickly, hitting her with the Chick Kick! She hooked the leg, and the referee slid back into the ring and began counting – 1... 2... Becky kicked out just before the 3!

Mauro Ranallo: So close! And you have to wonder if Trish would have got the 3 count had the referee not had to deal with the commotion at ringside.

Trish pulled Becky to her feet and set her up for the Stratusfaction. She ran towards the ropes... but Lynch broke free and shoved Stratus into the ropes, then grabbed her by the arm and pulled her down to the mat, locking in the Dis-arm-her! Trish cried out in pain, but she was able to get to the ropes. The referee ordered Becky to break the hold, but Becky refused! The referee threatened to disqualify her and began the five count – 1... 2... 3... 4... Becky broke the hold just before the referee counted 5.

Nigel McGuinness: Becky showing she is willing to do whatever it takes to win, Mauro...

Mauro Ranallo: Trish Stratus is in a lot of pain... Becky might have separated her shoulder!

The referee ordered Becky Lynch to step back, then checked on Trish. The referee could be heard asking Trish if she was okay to continue, and Trish nodded, then used the ropes to pull herself up. As soon as Trish was on her feet, Becky grabbed her, dragging her towards the center of the ring then going for the Dis-arm-her again... but before Becky could lock it in, Trish rolled her up! The referee counted – 1... 2... 3!

Mauro Ranallo: It's over! Trish wins!

Nigel McGuinness: I can't believe it, Mauro! I thought for sure that Becky has this won after the damage she'd done to Trish's arm!

As the referee called for the bell, Trish stayed down on the mat, clutching her shoulder. Lynch looked stunned at losing. Natalya ran to the ring to check on Trish, and as she slid into the ring, Becky exited the ring, shaking her head in disappointment. The referee handed Trish the Women's Championship then raised her uninjured arm in victory. Natalya helped Trish to the back as a video package for the main event began to play.

MATCH FOUR

"If Ya Smeeeelllllll"

The crowd was immediately on their feet.

Mauro Ranallo: Here we go! This is a match months in the making and it has gotten personal!

The Rock sauntered down to the ring.

Christy Hemme: This match is scheduled for one fall and it is for the EBWF World Championship. Introducing first, from Miami, Florida, weighing in at 260lbs. He is the challenger, and the MOST ELECTRIFYING MAN in SPORTS and ALLLLLL of ENTERTAINMENT...

The Rock grinned big at Christy's embellishment.

Christy Hemme: THHHHHEEEE ROOOOOCCCCKKKKK!

A Rocky chant immediately went up as his theme cut off. "Judas" hit, but the volume seemed to lower as the Tron came to life. The scene opened backstage, and Jericho was spotted in the tunnel on his way to the ring. Jake Hager walked just a little behind him. They came to an intersection in the tunnel and suddenly someone came from the left, three others behind him. Hager moved into a defense position, but the lead man put an open palm to the Jake's chest. Chris turned around to see Wes Ikeda, flanked by three security guards. Wes spoke steadily, but those who knew him may have observed a hint of regret.

Wes Ikeda: You're not going out there tonight.

Jake Hager: What?

Chris Jericho: Oh, you better have a damn good explanation for...

Wes' head snapped to look over at Jericho.

Wes Ikeda: This is for your own good.

Chris Jericho: My own g...

Wes turned his attention back to Hager.

Wes Ikeda: Go willingly, and you won't be suspended, indefinitely without pay.

Hager's shoulders relaxed in defeat and the security guards surrounded him to show him out.

Chris marched up to Wes.

Chris Jericho: Have you lost your mind? Do you know what you're doing? Do you have any idea...

Jericho was incensed, but as he glared up at Wes he knew an explanation for what had just happened was not occurring on live TV. He stood up to Wes though, face contorted in anger.

Wes Ikeda: Chris... go and end this thing.

Wes took two steps back from his friend and looked to the production table near the curtain entrance.

Wes Ikeda: Restart his music.

Wes walked away, leaving Jericho irritated and contemplative as "Judas" started over and Jericho stepped through the curtain.

Mauro Ranallo: Wes Ikeda just banned Jake Hager from ringside?

Nigel McGuinness: Jericho must feel betrayed.

Mauro Ranallo: The Boss said it was Jericho's own good.

Nigel McGuinness: We're just trusting everything he says now?

Christy Hemme: And his opponent, hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canda weighing in at 230 pounds. He is the current EBWF World Champion... and the GREATEST OF ALL TIME.... Chris Jerriiiichhhhoooo.

The Rock looked stricken by Christy's swift betrayal and she just motioned to the cards as if to say she just reads what's on the paperwork. Jericho wiggled his eyebrows in glee as he turned the world championship over to the referee. The referee handed the belt over to Christy who exited with it as he rang the bell.

The Rock went right after Jericho, and the two immediately spilled out onto the floor. Jericho taunted Rock a little bit and ended up running to the other side of the ringide area. Jericho slid back into the ring and Rock met him there. Rock booted Jericho in the face, and Jericho was disgusted by it. Rock hit a flying forearm that knocked Jericho off of his feet. The Rock bounced off the ropes, but right into a Codebreaker. The crowd booed as Jericho went for the pin.

2...

Mauro Ranallo: And a kick out by Rock!

Once the men were back on their feet, Rock chopped away on Jericho, but Jericho got an armbar takedown. Jericho worked over ther arm, and when the crowd started to boo him he laughed and egged them on. He hit a running senton on a prone Rock and tried to cover him again, but Rock kicked out at one. Jericho mouthed off to the referee, but then turned around when the crowd reacted, because Rock had kipped up! Jericho hit a sliding lariat, and then looked for Lionsault, but he gets caught by Rock who hits a side Russian leg sweep, and then surprises Jericho with the Sharpshooter!

Nigel McGuinness: I think that's a bad idea.

Mauro Ranallo: I don't think Jericho can appreciate Rock's take on a Canadian classic!

Jericho screamed in pain. The tron lit up again, and the Rock broke the hold and went over to the ropes, throwing his hands up at the screen. Hager was backstage trying to talk Paul Heyman into letting him go out there. Rock did the Just Bring It taunt which excited the crowd, but when he turned around he found Jericho waiting and Chris hit im with his own Rock Bottom.

Mauro Ranallo: Jericho returning the favor there. Rock is down.

Nigel McGuinness: Match of the Year caliber here tonight.

The Rock kicked out of his own finisher at two! Rock was incensed and powered up, tossing Jericho through the ropes. The referee implored them to bring it back inside, but Rock dropped Jericho carelessly at ringide, and began clearing off the Spanish announce table. The referee was half harted. Everyone knew this match wouldn't end in a count out. Rock grabbed Jericho but was caught off guard as Jericho whipped him right into the hard, wooden table. Jericho chuckled to himself as he ascended the table with The Rock in tow. Jericho readied another Rock Bottom, but absorbed the move himself when The Rock countered, and the crowd responded with cheers. Rock grabbed Jericho by the hair, repeatedly being told to "Watch the hair!" as Rock completely ignored instructions and helped Jericho back into the ring by his scalp. The action spread back inside the ropes, and Rock went for another Rock Bottom, but Jericho foiled him and dropped him for the Walls of Jericho!

Mauro Runallo: Don't tap, Rocky!

Nigel McGuinness: So much for being complete unbiased.

Rock struggled. He looked like he was to tap. His face turned red as he howled in pain, but he reached the ropes to break the hold. Rock, legs weakened, saw the opportunity to strike, and got an inside cradle.

Jericho shifted momentum and rolled the pin the other way, Rock's shoulders down now.

Rock kicked out.

Nigel McGuinness: Clever try.

The Rock sprang off the ropes and launched his body into Jericho. Jericho manuevered and countered to whip Rock away, pull him and turn around for the..

Nigel McGuinness: Juda-No!

Rock dodged the elbow and just as Jericho completed his turn, Rock was there for another...

Mauro Ranallo: Rock Bottom! Rock Bottom!

3!

Nigel McGuinness: The Rock has done it!

Christy Hemme: Your winner, AND NEW EBWF World Champion, The Rock!

Jericho was coming to as Rock was climbing the turnbuckle. He couldn't believe it.

Mauro Ranallo: You have to wonder what might have happened if Wes Ikeda hadn't banned Hager!

Nigel McGuinness: Jericho will be wondering that too.

Jericho pulled himself from the ring and started up the ramp as The Rock strapped the championship around his waist. He celebrated with the fans while standing on the turnbuckle. At the top of the ramp Jericho stared back at the ring and started shouting. Suddenly a chair came crashing down across Jericho’s back, dropping him to his knees.

Mauro Ranallo: What just happened?

Aiden English stepped into frame, tugging Jericho’s head back by the hair. He yelled “I’m back!” in Chris’s face before hauling him up and hitting a Director’s Cut onto the steel entrance ramp.

Nigel McGuinness: It’s Aiden English! We haven’t seen Aiden in months!

Mauro Ranallo: And it doesn’t look like he’s forgotten about Chris Jericho!

Nigel McGuinness: Things have gone from bad to worse for our former Champion.

Mauro Ranallo: It has been one hell of a summer, Nigel.

Nigel McGuinness: And we're on to Fanniversary.

Aiden stood at the top of the ramp and clapped. The camera cut back to the Rock still celebrating in the ring as Summerslam went off the air.
