Utami - The Goddess is dead. Long live the Queen.

An opulent hallway opens up before us, seemingly endless as it stretches into the distance. Much of the decor is incredibly familiar to anyone who’s watched EBWF over the past few months. Floral wallpaper adorns the walls, golden light fixtures akin to small chandeliers light the way from above. One change of note is that the red carpet marking the path to some unknown destination now has golden fibers in it which create an eerie metallic glow. Suddenly the light fixtures flicker and shake as if some unseen force has rushed through the hallway. As this happens the dramatic opening notes of ‘O Fortuna’ hit, harkening back to the arrival of the Crimson Queen. The view of the hallway gives way to a red velvet background with a phrase in white text: ‘PREPARE THE WAY’.

We return to the hallway to find we’ve jumped down it a ways as the music continues to play. The outline of a grand doorway is just visible in the distance, and a new decoration lines the hallway. As far as the eye can see, Queen’s Court banners hang from the wall and they flutter as that wave of energy passes through again. Again we see the velvet backdrop, but with new text: ‘THE GODDESS IS DEAD’. Back in the hallway we’re now right in front of a set of solid wood double doors with Queen’s Court banners on either side. One last time the lights flicker, and we jump to the text: ‘LONG LIVE THE QUEEN’.

‘O Fortuna’ fades out and the double doors swing open, revealing the Crimson Queen’s throne room proper. A parkay floor, lage golden chandelier, and three tiered dais in the room speak to the regality of the Crimson Queen. At the base of this dais stand her two acolytes. Arisa Hoshiki in her new black ring gear with gold and silver trim, arms folded over her chest. Himeka Arita stands at the right hand side, a knee brace just visible under her gorgeous red entrance gown. Atop the dais in an oversized golden throne sits Utami Hayashishita, wearing not her red and gold ring gear but instead largely red and black gear. With her left leg crossed over the right, the Crimson Queen glares dispassionately down the camera.

Utami Hayashishita:
Good evening, little Alexa. All these months later and still I find myself having to speak about the biggest disappointment in professional wrestling. Yet no matter how many times I think I have finally finished with you, you always seem to find some way to petulantly demand my attention once more. Tonight you will learn that my attention is not something you should have ever demanded.”

She cracks just a hint of a devilish smile.

Utami Hayashishita: “Why is it that you just keep throwing yourself into my path, Alexa? Why is it that you believe you deserve to share a ring with someone of my stature? Or maybe it is simply fate itself that conspires to send you toward your destruction. Whatever the case may be, I will make one concession to you: you have succeeded in arousing my anger. I think I know the answer as to why, but you are probably too delusional to understand it without explanation. So once again it falls to me to explain to you as I would explain it to a child.”

Utami rolls her eyes at the very thought of having to do so. Still, she proceeds.

Utami Hayashishita:Once upon a time, there was a Goddess. A woman who knew what she wanted and was hell bent on taking it for herself regardless of the means necessary to do so. Even if it meant the violent destruction of the very fiber of someone’s being, she would do it. No methods were out of consideration if they achieved what she set out to do. For you see, she understood her worth and how much better she was than everyone else. During a time where no one else was fit to rule, she took the crown for herself and ruled over the mortals below her with ruthless efficiency. Whatever happened to that Goddess, Alexa?”

Utami leans forward, expectantly waiting for an answer. After a long moment of quiet she leans back and waves her hand to the camera.

Utami Hayashishita: “That dominant Goddess was stricken down! She fell to earth not because she was vanquished by a foe, but because she relented. Her heart grew soft and she doubted herself to the point that she no longer deserved the crown she had taken. And so the Goddess cast herself from the heavens because of her own weakness. Ever since she has aimlessly walked the earth insisting that she is still just as great and powerful as she has ever been. Yet the only power she could claim was to deny the truth. She would continually prosthelytize to the easily fooled peasants, convincing them of her false narrative. All the while she must surely have known in her heart that she was a damaged soul within the fractured shell of a deity she once was. Her whole facade was exposed the moment she crossed paths with the Queen.”

Utami laughs derisively.

Utami Hayashishita:
“Was that not the most tragic tale you have ever heard, Alexa? Does it not hit home in that mushy heart of yours? I imagine it must, because it is your story. Once you were a two time champion whose confidence and ability made her worthy of praise and glory. That is why when we first met I generously offered you the opportunity to serve me. I saw what you had been and knew that with my guidance you could have healed and become that Goddess again. Your first sin was to insult my kindness by turning me down. What happened to you after that was merely a matter of course, a punishment for your sin. Yet what happened after I taught you that lesson?”

She snarls.

Utami Hayashishita: “You proved yourself to be nothing more than a fool who could not accept the truth and continuously sought her own end. That is your second sin against me, Alexa. Despite all of the evidence to the contrary you insist that you are better than me. You lie to the world and tell them that you have not been dominated by the Crimson Queen from the moment you chose to insult her. I am sure that all the stabbing pain of those ribs as you tried to breath and utter more falsehoods was a reminder to the contrary. But still you defied me.”

Utami motions to Himeka for a moment.

Utami Hayashishita:
“Your final sin was to assault my dear loyal princess Himeka. When you were incapable of defeating Queen’s Court in a ring you and your minion resorted to barbaric tactics to try and weaken us. After your heinous actions I demanded that the powers that be in EBWF punish both of you severely. Their inaction has led me to one conclusion: only the Crimson Queen can truly punish you for your many sins, Alexa. Do you know what happens to sinners? It’s said they go to hell.

A trace of that wicked smile returns.

Utami Hayashishita: “Tonight I will escort you there personally. There will be no Liv Morgan to help your cause at Fanniversary. In that devilish structure it will just be the two of us, the fallen Goddess and the Crimson Queen. I am sure you believe that you are about to get your just reward for everything that has happened these past three months. That is the one thing you would be correct about, because I will make you pay for every ounce of defiance and every single sin you have committed against me. There is no suffering which is too much for you. I will see to it that Alexa Bliss is exposed before the very adoring public who softened her to the point that she killed the Goddess herself.”

That smile grows slightly.

Utami Hayashishita:“ The mortal who remains in the Goddess’ place is not content to simply endure pain and anguish on her own, is she? You insisted that this final battleground be hell itself. I understand that you are actively seeking your own annihilation, Alexa, but must you also force others to suffer with you? Your so-called friend Liv will have to watch helplessly as I mete out the righteous punishment your actions have earned you. As you crawl on your hands and knees, broken and brutalized once again by your own choice, Liv and indeed all of the people you conned into rooting for you will suffer the excruciating pain of knowing they can do nothing to help you. They will blame themselves for what is happening to you, but really there is no one to blame but yourself for that. I may inflict unimaginable pain upon your body, but you have chosen to inflict it upon the hearts and minds of everyone you care about. And yet you insist that I am the villain? Just one more delusion of the fallen Goddess.”

Utami waves dismissively and lets the point settle in for a moment. She then stands up rather suddenly, thrusting her hand toward the camera dramatically.

Utami Hayashishita: “Tonight there can be only one end to our quarter-year long war. The Crimson Queen will conquer Alexa Bliss once and for all. We cannot continue this dance of defiance any longer. Previously I was content to send you to the hospital alone or, generously, with your friend. Every time I gave you the punishment you deserved, you came back and spit in my face. So in this climactic battle I am going to do everything in my power to re-injure those ribs and cripple your body. I am going to use my superior strength, skill and the structure itself to break you down piece by piece until you can no longer stand. My regal fury has been stoked Alexa, and I will see to it that you are indeed put through the worst hell imaginable.”

Utami lowers her arm and takes a step down the dais.

Utami Hayashishita: “With that said I have a favor to ask of you. At the end of this, as you lie beaten and broken and stare up at your righteous conqueror, ask yourself this question: was it worth it? Was it worth all the agony, pain and now the end of Alexa Bliss just to deny reality? As I told the last delusional fool who defied me, no one leaves a fight with me the same. After a war against me, I am going to kill the woman you once were. You will never step into this ring again. Both of us are walking into hell, but only the Crimson Queen is walking out. Tonight, I will end you.”

She steps down to the floor and flashes a full violent smile.

Utami Hayashishita: “The Goddess is dead. Long live the Crimson Queen.”
