SEGMENT

As Warfare's opening credits faded out, “Twilight Dream” suddenly hit to a massive pop from the Mississippi Coast Coliseum crowd. Though her entrance lacked the theatrics seen at Christmas Eve of Destruction Tam’s arrival still held a big time feel to it. This time she simply wore her ‘Magic Circle’ t-shirt over her ring gear, the EBWF Women’s Championship prominent around her waist. She smiled bright as ever and waved to the crowd while making her way to the ring, backed by a chorus of “TAM NA-KA-NO!” chants. These grew louder as the champion climbed the ring steps and then into the ring. Instead of climbing the turnbuckles, she motioned to the ringside crew for a mic.

Mauro Ranallo: The Biloxi crowd has come unglued for the EBWF Women’s Champion, Tam Nakano! She’s not booked for a match, but it’s clear she’s got something on her mind.

Nigel McGuinness: Tam Nakano survived an intensely personal and physical challenge from Arisa Hoshiki at Christmas Eve of Destruction a few days ago. It was clear she wanted to re-establish her connection to the challenger, but at this time we have no idea if that happened. And after everything she went through against her former best friend, Tam still holds that all important championship.

Tam laughed as the chants and cheers grew louder. After soaking it in for a few moments she lifted the mic up and spoke.

Tam Nakano: Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything. When I came back to chase my Twilight Dream, you were with me from the very first night. Then when I went to war with someone who knows me better than anyone in this place, you were right there with me. It’s because of your support that I kept getting up after every last one of her kicks, and was able to dig deep enough to do something I’ve never done before. I walked out of Christmas Eve of Destruction with this beautiful championship still around my waist because of that. And I promise I will keep fighting to remain your champion!

The fans cheered loudly, and then Tam’s expression grew more serious.

Tam Nakano: Actually, I’m out here for more than just a celebration. First off, I need to thank someone special who made my holidays thrilling. She gave me the fight of her life and showed us all some things I think even she forgot she had in her. I’m not sure where she’s going from here, but she absolutely made me earn my first defense of this beautiful championship. I hope she listens to her heart and not her queen, but for now all I can do is say this: thank you, Arisa-san.

Cheers roared out again, along with a modest but audible “A-RI-SA!” chant. The camera switched to a crowd shot; in the sea of shirts and signs was one which read 'DARK STAR = THE REAL QUEEN'. Then the camera returned to the ring where Tam looked thoughtful.

Tam Nakano: And now, the other important point. I'm sure everyone here is wondering the same thing - what's next for the reigning EBWF Women's Champion?

This got a pop and chants of "YES! YES! YES!". Tam smiled impishly as she continued.

Tam Nakano: So have I! I've been thinking about that a lot myself, and I think I figured out an answer. Like I told Arisa, I'm at my best when I fight with all my emotions and heart. So who here do my emotions and heart draw me towards next? It's not the queen, she had an opportunity to answer my challenge for Christmas Eve of Destruction and she was silent. But I will tell her this: Utami, whenever you find the courage to actually fight me instead of hiding behind Queen's Court, you know where to find me. I'll defend my beautiful championship against you anytime, anywhere.

The Biloxi crowd thundered approval of the champion's statement as Tam removed the belt from her waist. She held it up with her free hand to remind the Crimson Queen just who the champion was. After a moment she lowered the belt onto her shoulder and continued.

Tam Nakano: If not her, then who? Well someone else made her interest in this championship very clear without a single word. We crossed paths backstage at Christmas Eve of Destruction and I could see the desire in her eyes. She's here tonight, so I know she's listening. It's wonderful that she's back after what Queen's Court has done to her; coming back from that shows the competitive fire she has deep down inside. And I haven't forgotten what happened the last time I crossed paths with Alexa Bliss. So I'm here tonight to tell her that if she wants to step into the ring with me again, I'm ready.

This was answered with a big pop, some "YES!" chants and Tam smiling confidently. Another crowd shot followed on which we saw two signs: 'WELCOME BACK LEXI!' and one with a picture of Tam holding the title up reading 'KEEP ON DREAMING!'. When the shot returned to the ring, Tam had shifted the belt up a bit.

Tam Nakano: Until we find out who's stepping up, there's a galaxy of world class talent on display for you tonight! My heart's beating fast just thinking about it all the matches, including the World Championship match in the main event. Are you excited too?

A huge pop was the crowd's response, which made Tam smile ear to ear.

Tam Nakano: Then let's get ready for the first Warfare of the year! Keep on Twilight Dreaming!

With another cheer, Tam set the mic down and snapped the belt on like a sash across her chest. "Twilight Dream" played over the speakers to more "TAM NA-KA-NO!" chants and the shot faded into a graphic for the next match.

MATCH ONE

Mauro Ranallo: What a start to Warfare! Happy New Year, folks! Welcome to our Monday Fight Night!

Nigel McGuinness: Tonight in our main event, The Miz will challenge EBWF World Champion Xavier Woods for the title.

Mauro Ranallo: EBWF knows how to kick off 2023! We’re ready for our first match of the night.

Liv Morgan was to the ring first, and the crowd gave her a mixed reaction as she climbed between the first and second rope. She played to the crowd until Britt’s music hit, and the crowd cheered the arrival of the DMD.

Nigel McGuinness: The former women’s champion looks like she’s spoiling for a fight!

Mauro Ranallo: You know she’s wanting to get her hands back on the women’s title this year.

Britt got into the ring, and the referee rang the bell. Britt went for a quick roll up, but only got a one count. Britt put Liv in an arm lock, and brought her down for a quick roll up. Liv was surprised, but managed to kick out at two. The crowd started chanting DMD.

Mauro Ranallo: This crowd here in Biloxi is supporting Doctor Britt Baker!

Liv was back on the offense. Britt took Liv down and tried to go for a lock jaw, but Liv broke out. Things turned into a bit of a shoving match.

Nigel McGuinness: The disrespect!

Liv was on the ropes, but managed to move things back toward the center of the ring. Britt hits Liv with a butterfly suplex and followed up with knee shots to the face. Britt tried to go for a lock jaw but Liv broke out of it, and charged Britt back into the corner. Liv hit Britt with several kicks to the face. Liv went for the pin.

1…
2…

Mauro Ranallo: A kick out from Baker!

Liv climbed the top rope. Britt stopped her, and grabbed her by the hair. The referee told her to watch the hair, so Britt snapped forward with a neck breaker from the first rope. Britt stomped Liv in the back of the head. Liv, out of nowhere gave Baker a stunner. Liv went for the pin again.

Mauro Ranallo: It’s only good for two!

Britt picked up Liv and dropped her on her head on the apron. Britt pulled her back to the center of the ring and went for a pin. Liv kicked out at two. Britt put Liv in a backslide for a pin, but Liv got her shoulder up again. Britt came up, as Liv hit the Liv Kick. She went for a pin again.

Nigel McGuinness: Liv kicks out! These two are just trading pins and neither will stay down.

Liv hit Britt with a pile driver but only gets a two count.

Mauro Ranallo: What else does Liv have to do?

Britt laid into Liv with right hands, backing her into the corner until she was sat back on the mat. Britt stomped Liv several times, and tried to go for the pin, but Liv grabbed for the ropes. Britt pulled her back and put not he lockjaw!

Nigel McGuinness: Britt has it locked in!

Liv reached for the ropes, trying to scurry away, but was unable to get to safety. Liv hesitated, but could take no more and tapped!

Nigel McGuinness: That’s it!

Mauro Ranallo: Liv Morgan just tapped to Britt Baker! What a way for Dr. Britt Baker to kick off the new year.

SEGMENT

After the match, the camera cut backstage where Utami Hayashishita and Himeka Arita were attacking Alexa Bliss.

Mauro Ranallo: Oh no, Queen’s Court are attacking Alexa Bliss again!

Nigel McGuinness: This is an all too familiar sight Mauro.

Himeka grabbed Alexa and hit a Running Powerbomb into the wall. Alexa fell into a seated position as Utami spoke.

Utami Hayashishita: I do not understand you - I have broken your ribs, bruised your sternum and made you taste your own blood! And still you return like a cockroach refusing to die. Prepare to die, little insect!

Utami took a few steps back and ran for a Punt but was stopped when Christian Cage stepped in front of her. Fury was written all over Utami’s face as she glared into his eyes.

Utami Hayashishita: Get out of the way you washed up sidekick.

Christian Cage: Not today your highness.

Mauro Ranallo: Thank god Christian showed up! Finally we have some order around here.

Christian went over to Alexa.

Christian Cage: You ok?

Alexa Bliss: Yeah.

Christian helped Alexa to her feet before he pulled a chain out of his pocket.

Nigel McGuinness: This is taking a bad turn for Queen’s Court.

Christian went to give the chain to Alexa… until he turned around and threw it to Utami.

Mauro Ranallo: What in the-

Both Utami and Alexa had a look of shock on their faces. Christian had a smirk on his face as he gazed down at Alexa. Still in shock Bliss took a few steps towards Christian but was knocked down with a shot from the chain by Utami. Utami grinned sadistically as she prepared to swing the chain again, but suddenly was taken to the ground! Liv Morgan had arrived just in time to make the save, but Himeka Arita was closing in on her fast. Rather than coming to her queen’s rescue, Himeka walked right into a pink gloved fist - the woman in the biker helmet had returned! The four exchanged blows as the ambush turned into a full on skirmish!

Mauro Ranallo: Mamma mia! This is absolute chaos!

Utami managed to shove Liv off of her and hurried to her feet. Before Liv could attack again, Himeka kicked the masked vigilante into her path! This gave Queen’s Court the moment they needed to flee the scene to a chorus of boos. For a moment the woman in the motorcycle helmet lingered - she looked down toward Alexa, then to Liv at her side. Though her back was to the camera, we saw the woman lift the helmet’s visor to reveal her identity to Liv. After a moment she ran off in pursuit of Queen’s Court. Liv’s momentary confusion passed and she rushed to Alexa’s side to check on her friend; meanwhile, Christian walked away with a satisfied smirk as Warfare went to a commercial break.

SEGMENT

When Warfare returned from the commercial break, Roman Reigns was shown backstage with Jimmy and Jey Uso.

Roman Reigns: Y'all ready?

Jey Uso: We was born ready Uce.

Jimmy Uso: Yeet, fo' sho' my dawg. Just make sure you take care of business ta'night with Seth Rollins!

Roman Reigns: Oh, I'm gon' do what I do best and you can believe that Jimmy.

Roman Reigns stepped up right in the face of Jimmy Uso.

Jimmy Uso: I ain't got no deal yet Uce...

Roman Reigns: Yet? Let me make this perfectly clear to you Jimmy, if you don't believe that I'm gon' do right by y'all... GET TO STEPPIN'!

Jimmy Uso: That's how it's gon' be huh!?

Roman Reigns: ....

Jey Uso: Bruh... chill... he said it's gon' take some time Uce, just be patient and let the Head of the Table do his thing Jimmy...

Roman Reigns immediately turned to face Jey Uso.

Roman Reigns: Don't you ever interrupt me again! Y'all must think... I NEED YOU! I don't need nothing from y'all. Jey Uso: See man I told you Uce...

Jimmy Uso: You didn't tell me shit man...

Jey Uso: Look what you done did!

Jimmy Uso: Aye Uce, look here... the both of you can choke on somethin' bruh, I'M OUT!

Jimmy Uso stormed off the scene. Jey Uso looked on in shock. Roman Reigns came back onto the scene.

Roman Reigns: Where did he go?

Jey Uso: He's buggin' Uce... forget about him!

Roman Reigns: Forget about him?

Roman Reigns nodded his head.

Roman Reigns: No...

Jey Uso: No, what?

Roman Reigns: FIGURE IT OUT NOW!

Mauro Ranallo: Tension already in the Bloodline, Nigel.

Nigel McGuinness: Yeah and that's not even the bad part Mauro. The Bloodline just became official earlier this week.

Mauro Ranallo: Well if this keeps up Nigel, I doubt this thing lasts very long.

Nigel McGuinness: Roman needs to focus on himself Mauro, not his family. He's got a huge opportunity ahead of him in the Last Survivor Match!

Mauro Ranallo: Do you really believe Roman is going to let his cousins ruin this chance for him? I doubt it.

The camera cut to the stage as Seth Rollins’ music began to play.

MATCH TWO

“The Rising” by Def Rebel hit and the crowd gave a mixed reaction as Seth Rollins made his way to the ring.

Nigel McGuinness: Here comes the Breakout Champion, Seth Rollins… but how will he fare tonight when he goes one on one with a man he knows very well, “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns?

When Rollins was in the ring, “The Truth Reigns” hit and Roman Reigns headed to the ring. Upon entering the ring, Roman stared Rollins down. Rollins responded with a smirk.

Mauro Ranallo: Look at that smirk, Nigel… I think Seth Rollins is confident about his chances!

The referee called for the bell and Reigns went for a clothesline, but Rollins ducked underneath it, then spun around and hit Reigns with a series of punches. Rollins then went to whip Reigns into the corner, but Roman reversed it, sending Rollins into the corner before hitting a corner clothesline. As Rollins stumbled out of the corner, Reigns set him up for a suplex… but Rollins blocked it, then hit Reigns with a reverse STO into the corner!

Nigel McGuinness: Great counter by Seth Rollins!

As Reigns got to his feet, Rollins hit him with a series of punches, then whipped him against the ropes. As Reigns ran back towards him, Rollins hit a slingblade, then as Reigns got back up, Rollins hit him with a clothesline, sending him over the top rope. Rollins then ran against the ropes, before diving through the ropes and hitting Reigns with a…

Mauro Ranallo: Tope suicida!

Rollins pulled Reigns to his feet and went to toss him back into the ring, but Reigns stopped him with an uppercut punch. Rollins looked dazed and Reigns grabbed him, dragging him towards the announce table. Reigns slammed Rollins’ head off the table, then cleared the table. As Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness quickly got up and took a step back, Reigns hit Rollins with a powerbomb through the table!

Nigel McGuinness: Oh my god!

Reigns rolled back into the ring, and yelled at the referee to count Rollins out. As the referee reached the count of 9, Rollins stumbled to his feet and slid back into the ring just before the 10 count! Reigns lifted Rollins up over his shoulder, hitting a Samoan drop, then hooked the leg. The referee counted - 1… 2… Rollins kicked out! Reigns grabbed Rollins and pummeled him with a series of punches against the mat, then pulled Rollins to his feet and threw him shoulder first into the ring post! Rollins hit the ring post hard, then fell out of the ring. Reigns followed Rollins to the outside and whipped him into the steel steps, then threw Rollins back into the ring. Reigns then re-entered the ring and hit Rollins with the Superman Punch! He hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Rollins kicked out!

Mauro Ranallo: Roman Reigns is in complete control here!

Reigns punched the mat, then got to his feet and signaled for the Spear. As Rollins got to his feet, Reigns charged towards him, going for the Spear… but Rollins countered it into a Pedigree! He hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… Reigns kicked out!

Nigel McGuinness: What a counter! I can’t believe that didn’t get a 3 count, Mauro!

As Rollins got to his feet, he began stomping his foot, signaling for the Curb Stomp. Rollins then went for it… but Reigns moved out of the way, then hit Rollins with an uppercut! Reigns stomped on Rollins several times, before putting him in the Guillotine Choke! Rollins started to fade, but he was able to get to the ropes and the referee ordered Reigns to break the hold. After breaking the hold, Roman began arguing with the referee, allowing Rollins time to get back to his feet. Rollins used the ropes to pull himself up, then went to hit Reigns with a superkick… but Reigns side-stepped it and whipped Rollins against the ropes, before charging towards him and hitting The Spear! He hooked the leg and the referee counted - 1… 2… 3!

Mauro Ranallo: It’s over! Roman Reigns gets the victory!

SEGMENT

After Warfare came back from commercial, Renee Young appeared on the screen with a microphone in hand. Next to her was the EBWF Director of Live Events, Paul Heyman.

Renee Young: Paul, you requested this time to speak and provide us an update on the investigation of Edge's disappearance and subsequent injuries, correct?

Paul nodded.

Paul Heyman: That I have, Renee. First, I am happy to report that Edge is on the mend and is working with doctor's and training staff to ensure that he is ready to return as soon as possible. In the meantime, I know that I speak for the EBWF Universe when I wish him the best and I hope for a speedy convalescence.

Renee Young: Paul, do you really expect us to believe your well-wishes when you have worked tirelessly to make Rated RKO's lives miserable?

Paul smiled wryly, waving off the notion.

Paul Heyman: Pish-posh, it's all water under the bridge. I don't wish ill on Edge, and I never have. Now while I absolutely admit that myself and Edge and Orton didn't quite see eye to eye a lot, I would never want to see either of them hurt. Which is why I was devastated to find out that Edge was discovered in Randy's locker room at Christmas Eve of Destruction. He was bruised, bloody, and beaten within an inch of his life, Renee. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Renee Young: Speaking of, has there been any update in the investigation about what happened and who is responsible? Has there been any word from Bray Wyatt?

Paul nodded.

Paul Heyman: I have recently spoken to Bray. He is patiently waiting for this unfortunate situation to be resolved before showing his face. Out of respect for Edge.

Renee Young: Out of...respect... for Edge?

Paul Heyman: Indeed! I think it's quite clear at this point that Bray is not the person responsible for Edge's horrific incident.

Renee tilted her head skeptically.

Renee Young: If you don't think Bray Wyatt is involved...who do you think is?

Paul Heyman: I think it's pretty clear, don't you? There aren't many people with access to Edge often enough to be able to subdue him without a fight. We also know that Edge normally has back up at all times. Finally, we know where Edge was found at Christmas Eve of Destruction.

Renee Young: Wait a minute, you're not seriously--

Paul Heyman: I believe that EBWF should investigate Randy Orton! Based on the evidence, it's clear to me that Randy Orton was responsible for abducting Edge, attacking him from behind, and "discovering" him in his own locker room to try and throw us off the scent.

Renee Young: How can you possibly think that?!

Paul Heyman: Spare me, Renee. The evidence is incontrovertible. It is my intention on speaking with the rest of the EBWF front office to launch an investigation against Randy Orton. He is the true villain in all of this. My client, Bray Wyatt, is 100% a victim of a lazy narrative about his past. And I will prove it.

With that, Heyman smiled and walked away from Renee, leaving her gobsmacked. The scene faded.

SEGMENT

Warfare cut to the trainer's room where a sad looking Alexa Bliss was seen sitting while holding an icepack on her jaw. Alex Marvez entered the room but before he could say anything Alexa spoke.

Alexa Bliss: Please not right now.

Alex nodded and left as Liv Morgan walked in. Liv sat down next to Alexa and pulled her into a hug.

Alexa Bliss: Why?

Liv Morgan: I don’t know Lexi.

The two women continued hugging as a video package began to play promoting the main event.

MATCH THREE

Mauro Ranallo: It's time for our main event! The EBWF World Champion Xavier Woods will take on The Miz tonight.

Nigel McGuinness: We're ringing in the new year with what is sure to be an unforgettable match up.

"Aweeeesome!" I Came to Play hit as The Miz came from behind the curtain.

Mauro Ranallo: Miz is here without Bro Awesome, and he looks prepared to go it alone.

Miz pointed out to the audience in his usual entrance, and went down the ramp to get into the ring. "New Day, New Way" began to play and the crowd gave a mixed reaction.

Mauro Ranallo: This crowd is wondering what Xavier's mindset is here tonight. He's shown a different side of himself as of late.

Nigel McGuinness: He's seemed a bit darker lately, and some members of this crowd are letting him hear it.

Xavier held the championship up high as he headed down the ramp. He got into the ring and gave the title to the referee. He presented it to the audience.

Christy Hemme: This match is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the EBWF World Championship. Introducing first, the challenger, from Cleveland, Ohio, he is The Miz!

The crowd cheered and Miz smirked as Xavier looked toward him, unimpressed.

Christy Hemme: And his opponent, from Columbus, Georgia. He is the EBWF World Champion... King Xavier Woods!

The mixed reaction continued and Miz smirked, taunting Woods a bit as he peered out into the crowd. "Ya hear that?" Miz shouted as the referee gave the EBWF Championship to the time keeper and rang the bell.

Muara Ranallo: Here we go!

They locked up, and Miz powered Woods into the ropes before patting him on the head.

The crowd gave an "Ohhh!"

Nigel McGuinness: The disrespect from The Miz!

The Miz taunted the crowd, egging them on. Miz grabbed a waistlock before hitting a snapmare. Woods covered up, so Miz booted him in the head. Miz mocked him, so Woods took him down with a waistlock. Miz elbowed him in the face before whipping him into the ropes. Woods countered out of a move and hit a fireman’s carry takedown. Miz covered up, so Woods hit a kick to the head. Miz blocked a big boot and went for some punches, but Woods ducked it. Woods unloaded on him with some strikes.

Mauro Ranallo: Woods will not let up!

Miz angrily charged, but Woods leapfrogged him twice. Miz put the brakes on and went for a boot, but Woods rolled him up for a two-count. Woods got him out of the ring and hit a splash off the apron to the floor! The crowd was in it, with a few chanting for Woods.

Nigel McGuinness: You can't beat him out there!

Mauro Ranallo: You can retain out there though.

The referee had counted to four when Woods got Miz back in the ring. Miz took him by surprise and hit a throat thrust. Miz chopped the chest. Woods turned him around and hit some lightning-quick chops. Woods kicked him back and went to the second rope, but Miz swept the feet. Miz hit a facebuster off the ropes. Miz stomped away at him before kicking him in the ribs. Miz choked him on the ropes before the referee backed him up. As the referee admonishes The Miz, but Xavier broke it up by charging at his opponent. Miz attacked the lower back of Woods and ripped at the face. Miz applied a chin lock. Miz got Woods in the corner and punched away at him. Miz taunted the crowd, so Woods hit some strikes. Woods booted him back and came off the second rope with a DDT! Woods went for the pin!

Nigel McGuinness: No good!

Mauro Ranallo: But Woods won't let up!

Woods hit a clothesline and a back elbow. Woods scooped Miz up and hit a running powerslam for a near fall. Woods hit some stiff It Kicks.

Mauro Ranallo: Woods is trying to to beat Miz at his own game!

Miz blocked the kicks, but Woods takes him down and applies a Figure Four! Miz screamed in pain, but he got to the bottom rope.

Nigel McGuinness: Woods has to break it up.

Woods slammed Miz's legs on the mat and backed away. Miz tried to get up on his feet, but when he was still teetering, Woods connected with a cross-body block before hitting a standing moonsault.

1...
2...

Mauro Ranallo: No! Woods almost had it there, but Miz is back to his feet.

Miz booted him back, but Woods quickly knocked him down. The Miz was rocked and Woods blindsided him with a flying forearm. Miz rolled out of the ring before Woods could pin him.

Mauro Ranallo: The ring awareness of Miz!

Woods followed him out and got the ground and pound at ringside. The referee began their count, and at 5, Woods helped Miz up by his hair and got him back in the ring. Once there, Woods applied a chinlock. Miz fought up, but Woods took him down and kept it applied. Miz fought out and countered an uppercut into a backslide pin!

2...

Nigel McGuinness: No good! Miz thought he had it.

Miz chopped Woods, but he hit a swinging neckbreaker. Xavier sized Miz up, and charged him in the corner.

Mauro Ranallo: Miz moved out of the way!

Woods went knee first into the ring post, and stumbled out. Miz siezed the moment.

Mauro Ranallo: Skull Crushing Finale!

Nigel McGuinness: Are...

1...

Nigel McGuinness: you...

2....

Nigel McGuinness: kidding...

3!

Nigel McGuinness: ...me?! The Miz! The Miz!

Mauro Ranallo: The Miz is a 7x EBWF World Champion.

The crowd cheered as Miz sat on his knees in the ring, looking surprised. The referee gave him the championship belt and he held it tightly to his chest.

Mauro Ranallo: The Miz can't believe it.

Nigel McGuinness: What a match! What a great showing from Xavier Woods!

Mauro Ranallo: It's the first Warfare of the year and we already have a match of the year contender.

Miz stood up and on the turnbuckle and held the championship up over his head.

Mauro Ranallo: I'm sure we'll hear from Miz next week!

Nigel McGuinness: What a night. Happy new year everyone!

The camera continued to focus on Miz's celebration as Warfare went off the air.
