Intent to Hurt

Post by David »

[Following Rhyno’s vicious attack on Christian, “The Instant Classic” was given some time off from EBWF’s house shows. He decided to stay home for a few days, and get some rest. Luckily, he hadn’t been injured, despite having his head busted wide open; there was no sign of a concussion. The doctors advised him to stay home, but he didn’t care much what the doctors said. He went beyond doctor’s orders, and straight up to management. He couldn’t deal with not interacting with the fans. He had to go to those house shows, and he had to get a video for the company’s official website. The cameras cut to the unspecified arena of the house show, where the fans were getting into the show. Following a few moments of silence, “Just Close Your Eyes” by Waterproof Blonde hits the PA system, and the crowd lets out a massive pop for Captain Charisma, he comes out through the curtain and smirks to the crowd, wearing his ring attire as he makes his way down to the ring. Instead of entering the ring however, he circles around it and grabs a steel chair. He folds it up, and tosses it in the ring, then getting himself in the ring. He wedges the chair between the third and second rope of the ring, showing off the blood stain on it. He then grabbed a microphone and began speaking, as the lights dimmed to a point were there was only a spotlight in the ring.]

Christian: I know I walked out here all smirks, but there is no more laughing from me for the time being. On Warfare, I was supposed to team up with a friend, and face the champions. However, what happened wasn’t exactly that... Rhyno waited until the match was over and hit me across the head three times and in the gut five times with that very same steel chair wedged in that corner! Not to mention that he spiked me head first with a Rhyno Driver, and then gored me. Simply put, he betrayed me.

[Captain Charisma faced the camera head-on as if he was talking to it directly.]

Christian: But Rhyno, on Warfare you didn’t just betray me. You betrayed the fans, and more importantly, you betrayed yourself. You think you’re a man beast? Well, I think you’re nothing more than an earlier version of Mankind. You gave in to your animal instincts, and now you are but an irrational primate. I apologize if the wording used right here is far too advanced for your dim-witted self, but if I was to say what’s exactly on my mind, I can guarantee you, Jericho would kick me the hell out of this company for profanities greater than ever uttered before. At Survivor Series, I’ll deal with things far more important than some simplistic animal like you, Rhyno. You’re not even on my top five priorities, but don’t worry... The time will come for retribution. When it does, I will get mad!

[The crowd cheered, as Christian walked up to the chair, unfolded it, and placed it in the middle of the ring. He looked at it for a while, and sat right on top of the blood stain.]

Christian: Like I said... I have bigger concerns. This Sunday at Survivor Series, I’m once again in a triple threat match. I’m, for the freaking one hundred thousandth time, in a number one contender’s match. You’d think I would have won a few by now, huh? Well... You lose some, you win very few. For the second time since my return to EBWF, back in July, Evan Bourne stands between me and a number one contender’s spot, and if I’m not mistaken, it’s the third time me and him have met on Pay-Per-View. At each time, we delivered a show, for you guys!

[Cheers and some claps were heard throughout the crowd, reminiscing about those two showdowns between the superstars.]

Christian: Now, you won the second time we squared off... This time, you won’t be so lucky. After what’s happened recently, I’m ager for revenge, and I don’t really care who gets in my way. You’re a great kid, but at Survivor Series, you WILL get Killswitched again, you won’t take the Path to Glory number one contender’s spot away from me again, like you did back at Destiny. Neither you, nor Alberto will stop me... Ah yes, Alberto Del Rio...

[The crowd boos at the Mexican Superstar’s name.]

Christian: The Mexican Aristocrat. Back at Destiny, I and Evan Bourne had some other guy stalling the match. He disappeared though... I can’t seem to remember his name, all I know, is that just like Señor Alberto, that guy sucked. Alberto isn’t exactly what you call championship material, hell, I’m not sure if you could even call Alberto, anything material, he’s the kind of guy who got rich out of sheer luck, and can’t really do anything right. I mean, look at him, whenever he gets near a mic, millions of people wish their ears popped, and that goes for his little entourage too. But, bad talking skills can be compensated by good in-ring skills, which basically means, Alberto has nothing to compensate his awful microphone skills.

[Christian got up form the steel chair and paced around in the ring. He picked the chair up, folded it, and walked around, chair in hand.]

Christian: By the way, I’m not being mean. This isn’t a change, or a turn, whatever a “turn” is... This is simply a guy who has had enough of being easy-going in the ring. A not so wise person once said it’s not showing off if you can back it up. Well, up until now, I’ve been talking the talk, and showing off through words. Now, I’ll be taking a page from a former friend’s book, and start taking severe, hard-hitting and bone-crushing actions, which harm my opponents. On Sunday, I won’t be easy-going, and I won’t take time-outs to taunt. At Survivor Series, I will walk in with the intent to hurt, and win. And I’ll walk out as a number one contender, with the intent to hurt even more.

[Christian threw his microphone aside, and the chair out of the ring. The lights came back on, as Christian stepped through the ropes, and left up the ramp, and backstage, through the curtain. From now on, we would see a much less joker out of Christian, and much more of a serious man on a mission. Whether or not this would be a positive change, only time will tell. But Christian had every intent of making this change work.]
