The camera opens up backstage in the garage as Randy's Maserati Quattroporte parks and opens. Randy steps out, his duffle bag slung over his shoulder, wearing jeans and a black hoodie with the sleeves pulled back, showing off half of his full arm sleeves.
The camera is ahead of him as he walks into the building, a bit of a scowl on his face.
Randy Orton: Comfortable, Chris? You come out here with your full 54-year-old chest and try to tell the world that I'm comfortable? That's gonna be the narrative we're going with, huh?
Randy chuckles darkly and shakes his head as he walks.
Randy Orton: Alright. Let me make something perfectly clear, and if you need to turn your good ear towards the TV to listen, do that now.
He glares into the camera.
Randy Orton: Comfort is waking up, knowing you've already done everything you need to do. But I put two men's dreams of winning the King of the Ring tournament in the dirt right next to their EBWF careers. That ain't comfortable.
Randy's jaw flexed.
Randy Orton: Comfort is living on your legacy while making no effort. Maybe I ain't on TV every day, but I'm always working. Always keep myself at top form. Always at my peak in case the beancounters need me to send someone on an early retirement.
He looked away briefly, adjusting the duffle bag on his shoulder.
Randy Orton: Comfort is being content to cash my checks, crack jokes, and enjoy catering rather than fight.
He shrugged slightly with a smirk.
Randy Orton: Okay, maybe I'm guilty of that one. Look at this King of the Ring semifinals. It's practically a murderer's row of people who don't need this. Punk, Edge, Jericho, Orton. Everyone else looks like children. I haven't lost my edge any more than you have. We're all here just running up the score because EBWF has failed to put up any decent competition under the age of 42. Yeah, I've taken some time to try and let the kids make a name for themselves. I've kept my mouth shut, took care of my kid, spoiled my gorgeous wife. But you've mistaken my silence for softness, Chris. That's where you made your mistake. I didn't set records with my title reigns by being passive. I didn't win back to back King of the Ring tournaments by being soft. I came here to win. And if I have to go through you, I will do it violently.
Randy narrowed his eyes as he slowed his pace and looked into the camera.
Randy Orton: Tonight, I leave you looking at the lights and then take one more thing that you don't think I need. My third King of the Ring win. Just to remind everyone that this Viper still bites hard. I'm not resting. I'm not content. And I for damn sure ain't comfortable. For you, Chris, I'm inevitable.
Randy arched his eyebrow.
Randy Orton: Edge? See you in the finals. We'll call it in the ring.
Randy gave a half salute with two fingers before leaving the cameraman behind, and the EBWF logo flashed in the corner.
